Women’s Magazine Deadlines
Posted: 9/28/06I’ve been working at my current employer for over 3 years now. That means I’ve had about 40 deadlines, but I can’t seem to get used to them. You’d think monthly magazines wouldn’t have such killer deadlines, but in reality, I’m convinced we face some of the biggest deadlines writers have to face. Especially people like me who tend to shift things they don’t really like into the future…
I’ve decided to put myself on a schedule from now on. Planning will be my new code-word. Some of my co-workers can relax the last few days before the deadline, but I hardly get any sleep the last 3 to 4 days… The solution will be a schedule based on something a friend of mine is doing. She tries to get some sort of neutral mixture between “fun work” and “boring work”. She starts with the boring work, and ends on the fun note. I’ll give that a go, as simple and naïeve it may sound…
