Now that we have explored some clutch trends, let’s go ahead and dive on over to shoes.  Personally, I absolutely love shoes – no matter who has made them or what brand they are, I love them!  However – one shoe trends that I have noticed that is very, very popular right now is the trendy heel. 

While before this year, the heel used to just be straight up and down, heels in this day and age are actually becoming a focal point for fashion and I love that!  Take a look at Chanel’s brand new shoe for the winter/autumn.  The heel looks absolutely sick!

Shoes are something that can be different and unique and I have to say that whether you are wearing a trapezoid heel or a stable square, I can tell you that you will look fashionable!

The hottest shoes this winter? Ankle high boots and booties. Knee high boots are making it big as well, the higher the better — even if they go thigh high, baby. Lace up boots are another sure bet, as are cut out shoes.

Where can you look? Christian Louboutin, naturally, not to mention the fabulous Jimmy Choo — and even if you cannot afford shoes by these two, you can check out what they have so you can get an idea of what’s hot … and then scout out the cheaper alternatives!

Pumps are still popular as well, and anything with fringes, tassels, or ruffles are hot, but the big surprise this winter? Old school Oxfords, baby!

There are lots of new trends in footwear which will be appearing in this as well as the coming seasons. A lot of them will be somewhat risky, some even considered off the wall.

Native American styles will be seen a lot in shoes. Here, you can see Native American detailing paired with the likewise popular high heeled short boot, for something that is definitely risky but which somehow seems to work awfully well.

In general, keep an eye out for beading, semiprecious stones, geometric shapes, and things of that nature.

No, the real mistake occurs when you mix stockings with shoes.  Specifically, you have got to be really careful about what kind of shoes you wear if you have decided not to go with a simple bare leg.

You know how you are not supposed to wear socks with sandals under any circumstances?  This fashion mistake falls under that category.  You should not, ever, wear stockings with open toed shoes.  Look at the picture here, it simply is not attractive.  If you have to cover your legs in some way, at least look for those stockings which cut off before covering the toe.

What I do not understand is how grown folks — men and women — can walk around wearing their “artfully” studded Crocs on a day to day basis.  Why?  It is not cool.  They do not look cute.  In fact, this qualifies as a fashion don’t supreme.  So, I have two words for you: STOP IT.  Besides, I hear they make your feet smell.

Yes, no? Maybe?

I don’t know, I am kind of inclined to like them myself — and I am not generally the biggest fan of ankle length boots. Anyway, tie-up anything works right now, whether they are boots or pumps or something in between.

I guess someone out there decided that they were tired of just wearing their fabulous boots in fall and winter, so they decided to create a style that was warm weather friendly, and it just took off from there. Sort of like short sleeve sweaters and mock turtlenecks or something.

Anyway! These are the Fiorentini + Baker Tike X-Thongs, and I am torn about them. They look a little like the trendy sandals I always paid too much money for at some random beach shop when I was in high school. Then again, there is something nice about their very simplicity. Still, I am pretty torn about whether or not I like them.

Maybe it is just this particular pair — though I know they come in some kind of olive, rusty color as well — but they are just a little too … drab. I come from the Sex in the City school of shoes — darling, they just have to be fabulous or they do not belong on your feet at all.

His shoes are known throughout the world and can you see why?  Take these two pairs of shoes for example, while one might have some fur on it, the other looks so different and unique, I might have to find a way to buy it before it comes out!

In the Rodarte Spring show, that is when these shoes were debuted and they looked fabulous on the runway.  While these are his fall line, I am sure that his spring and summer lines are just as cool and different looking.  Just remember, Nicholas Kirkwood everyone!

The latest trend in feet involves not only showing them off, but actually drawing attention to them. You want your shoes to get you noticed this season. Adornments, additions, bold prints — anything that draws attention and makes your feet look good will work.

So really – I have to say that I am normally a huge fan of Christian Lacroix but he definitely disappointed me with this one.  Now I could go on and on and on about the shiny leather, the beads, the fact that they have mother of freakin’ pearl along the bottom, but to be quite frank, the shoes themselves are terrible looking!

I think that Christian Lacroix definitely dropped the ball on these shoes and while they could be cool – seriously, they could be if you lose all of the everything on them and they were just straight shiny black but they aren’t!

So whenever you are looking for shoes, maybe if you like a lot of embellishments, you should check out Christian Lacroix and possible get yourself some shoes!
