Sweet but not Edible Candie’s for this winter
An iconic pop culture brand since 1981, Candie’s is always in the forefront. Whether worn by celebrities and stars as part of their wardrobes, featured by actresses in television shows, or donned by girls in motion pictures, Candie’s is one of the most recognized clothing labels in the US. The Candie’s spokesgirl is always the “it” person young girls emulate. Past faces of Candie’s are Pat Benatar, Hilary Duff, Ashley Simpson, Fergie and Alyssa Milano. Their newest spokeswoman, Hayden Panettiere recently won “Best Young Actor at the 2008 SyFy Genre Awards”.
Originally a one product company, a high heeled wood bottom slide called Candie, the brand has grown exponentially into other footwear, apparel, intimates, accessories and jewelry. The Fall 08 collection, sold exclusively at KOHL’S, consists of individual groups aptly named ”Amour de Denim”, “Romantic Delights”, “TOP Shelf” and “Midnight Silhouette”. A brand that dresses little girls from the age of four all the way up to juniors in their teens, Candie’s is everything a young girl wants to be. The Candie’s consumer is “connected, meets her friends at the hottest places, creates a buzz at all the parties, and she is sassy, stylish and clever”.
The dresses are so gorgeous that one can understand why young girls are moving back to wearing dresses. Once shunned in favor of jeans and sweats, these are sweet enough that even parents must agree the designer dresses are appropriate attire. Plaids, geometric prints and dip-dyed fabrics will make any girl a real sweetie.
Depending on individual budgets, it does not seem that the label is too expensive, considering the prices of other designer brands. But then again, the parents who pay for these cute outfits may have their own opinions.
