Silpada Designs Jewelry
Posted: 3/8/08And here’s yet another “home show”-jewelry label on Blog-Tique! ;-)
Silpada Designs has pretty much the same way of doing business as we’ve seen with Lia Sophia and Premier Designs… Silpada prides itself in being handcrafted .925 Sterling Silver in combination with pearls, leather, coral, ….
They stress it’s not “painted or plated” fashion jewelry… Are they dissing their competitors? :D
Oh well, same question as always — any feedback on Silpada Designs Jewelry? Any Silpada Representatives reading Blog-Tique?

I am an advisor with lia sophia jewelry and I can honestly say, Silpada has beautiful jewelry. I have worked trade shows with Silpada representatives before, have met many women at my own shows who have been to a Silpada show or own one of their pieces, and even have several now-loyal clients who once claimed to “only wear Silpada”.
Without a doubt, the most frequent feedback I receive on Silpada jewelry is regarding their price point – “you can’t get anything for under $100″ is a common response I hear. When I researched all of the direct sales jewelry companies before selecting lia sophia, I removed Silpada from the running early on. I was not confident my anticipated client base (my friends/family and their friends/family) would be willing or able to spend that amount of money on jewelry.
Again, Silpada jewelry is beautiful and I think there are definitely areas throughout the country where representatives would do very well with the company. Unfortunately, as a representative looking for a company that had a product which would appeal to the most affluent client as well as the most economical, Silpada did not have the mass appeal and overall marketability I was looking for.

I am a current representative for Silpada Designs and I think this company is absolutely top notch. I’ve only been with them since November, and I can’t believe what a quality company this really is. I’m not familiar with a lot of other Direct Selling companies or with any other jewelry companies, but when I mention the benefits of Silpada to people, they can’t believe what Silpada offers to customers, hostesses, and representatives. Does this information help you at all?
3/9/08 at 6:24 amOne more thing … the jewelry is beautiful and unique. The guarantee that comes with it is also great. Each piece is .925 sterling silver and of the best quality.
3/9/08 at 6:28 amI agree with Donnell. I know a girl who sells Silpada, and the jewelry is beautiful, but it was not marketable for me, but I felt the same about Lia Sophia, and decided to sell Premier Designs. Silpada’s jewelry is all sterling silver, but I wanted more variety and a varied price point. The hostess plan with my company is crazy. Everyone is shocked with the amount they get and because of the prices, the get many many pieces.
I don’t think the jewelry is any better in one company versus another. You just have to know what is reasonable for the group you are catering to or want to cater to.
3/14/08 at 7:25 pmI just was introduced to a company called Hermosa Sterling. They have awesome sterling silver jewerly and at very affordable prices! You really must check this company out if you want quality sterling silver at Lia Sophia pricing!
3/16/08 at 4:19 pmI can appreciate what some of the women have said regarding the pricing of Silapda’s jewelry. Often when you look at the catalog, your eye tends to wander to some of the more high end pieces. However, the catalog does have 144 items under $40.00.
3/19/08 at 8:27 pmI was just at a Pretty Unique party. They have incredible items! The price point is low $6-$50 and they are different than Lia Sophia and Silpada because they sell more than just jewelry, they sell handbags, trendy reading glasses, sunglasses, toe rings. Plus, I could take my items home with me right away! It was great!
3/27/08 at 9:44 pmI’m considering a career with them.
Stacey, hi! You’re the only one that I saw on this site that sells Silpada, so I’ll ask you my questions!I have been looking for a jewelry sales opportunity. I was thinking about Premier, but I just saw Silpada’s website and, oh my goodness, their stuff is more my style! Can you give me any more information about what it is like to sell Silpada? Is there a pretty good market for it? I haven’t sold jewelry before, so I am completely oblivious to what is required. How much is it to start? What do you get? Do you think that someone as reserved as myself could sell it successfully? Maybe it would be a good idea to have a party first? I’m in Michigan, is there anyone else here? Thanks for your help!
4/9/08 at 10:35 pmHaley – did you get your questions answered? I am a Silpada rep since July of 07 and LOVE IT. 50% of their jewelry retails for less than $50, so contrary to many – it is VERY affordable. Anyone can be successful with this line, doesn’t matter if you have sales background, or are very outgoing, anyone can do it. It’s because it sells itself. You just get your hostesses to invite all their friends over for a girl’s night out. No formal presentations, and so much fun. Fill out the contact form on the Silpada website. Whoever they send you to will answer all your questions. And, FYI – It is very successful all over the country – including Michigan. Good luck!
4/24/08 at 12:56 amHaley Dare, My name is Lynn in Michigan, and I have been a rep with Silpada for a 1 1/2 years now and I had all the questions you had before starting out. I can tell you that there is a huge market for Silpada and it is only growing. The company is 11 years old this July and it is just a wonderful company. The hostess benefits are huge as well as the rep benefits. You are able to earn up to $3,000 + in free jewerly when you sign up, plus monthly free jewerly after that and it is amazing. Please email me if you have any questions and I can send you a information packet.
mandymaker127@chartermi.net
I can also tell you that Silpada jewelry is all real stones, sterling silver, 100% life time warrenty, and all hand crafted. Customers that can’t wear jewelry with nickel, no problem, your safe with Silpada.
Lynn
5/15/08 at 9:38 amI also sell Silpada and often here it’s too expensive. In viewing the catalog it becomes obvious there are many pieces under $50. The quality is second to none. I have heard many nightmare stories coming from customers that purchased Lia Sophia or Premier Jewelry. The quality isn’t there and I’ve heard the customer service is an issue as well. I started in selling Silpada in January and I earned $2500 in free jewelry based on my sales during my first 100 days as a rep. It’s an awesome opportunity for anyone even if sales experience is lacking. This product sells itself.
5/15/08 at 8:38 pmI sell SD as well and live in NJ. For me it was the only choice. I needed to know that the jewelry I sold someone would look as good 2 years later as the day I sold it to him or her.
As for price, there is not a show that I do that someone does not comment that they prefer to pay for sterling silver then electroplated jewelry. I consistently hear that LS jewelry is expensive for what you get. Our jewelry is different and cannot be found at your local store. That is the key to the success of the company.
There are a lot of advantages as well. We pay $199 per year to be a rep instead of all of the nickel and dime costs of many other companies. We do not pay for our website, hostess benefits, returns for customers.
We earn downline commission from our very 1st rep and never run the risk of losing our downline.
I could go on and on so if you would more information you can contact me at gr8jewels4sale@aol.com
Have a Sterling Day!
5/22/08 at 1:05 amI would like to purchase some silpada. Can anyone send me some info?
5/25/08 at 8:42 pmI am proud to say I am a rep for SD. I have been with the company a year and a half and my experience has been nothing but positive. The $199.00 recert fee pays for the incredible FREE training you receive, free website, credit card fees, new materials when released and more. One of the many reasons I love SD is that they do not nickle and dime their reps.
SD is for women who desire high quality at affordable pricing. There isn’t anyplace I have found that gives you the same bang for the buck (not even Tiffany’s).
Comparing SD to Lia Sophia and others is like comparing apples to oranges (the only thing they have in common is they are both fruits). Just like the only thing SD and others have in common is they are both jewelry.
I am not the least bit offended if someone is not a SD woman. That’s why we have choices and there is something for everyone’s taste out there, be it SD, Premier or Target.
I stand behind the product and company 100% and I researched many.

I am new to this blog…love it! Just curious in reading the comments from silpada reps…..do you not have a wesite for silpada? And if so…can you post it…thanks. Just wondering….on the lia sophia blogs…every rep on there posted their wesite address…very interesting :)
11/4/08 at 9:42 pmJust curious to know of any silpada reps in my area; Elkhart County Inidana…the silpada website does not give me the option to just look up a rep by just putting my zip code in… like lia sophia’s website.
11/4/08 at 9:45 pmHi,
12/17/08 at 11:09 pmI am a Silpada rep and I researched several direct sales jewelry companies before I decided on Silpada. They are top notch, second to none. There’s almost 500 pieces of jewelry in their catalog and half of them are $50 and under. There’s something for everyone’s budget…I started in July and have been very successful because of this. It’s Tiffany quality jewelry…absolutely gorgeous! I posted my website and my email is karensilver1@comcast.net….I’m proud of SD and what I do! Contact me any time to talk about the business or buy this spectacular jewelry!
Hello,
I am currently agonizing over starting a home based business and which jewelry company to choose. I have narrowed it down between Premier Designs and Silpada. Personally, I own pieces from both and love each of them. As Derreth said, it’s like comparing apples to oranges, but any words of wisdom you all may have to aid in my decision making would be greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas!

12/24/08 at 3:30 pmI do not want to sell Silpada but would like to be a rep for myself so I can get great jewelry at a discount. Is this allowed? I used to be a BeautiControl rep and all we had to do to stay active was place a $100 order every 3 months. I love the Silpada jewelry but do not have time right now (3 little ones) to start a business. I would not be opposed to selling it to others if they liked what they saw on me but at this point in my life I do not have time for a business. Is there a minimum dollar amount you have to order each time you place an order? Any help you could give would be appreciated.
12/28/08 at 5:48 amI am thinking of becoming a Sipalda rep also. I have thrown the idea around for the past year. Every time I think I’m ready to try, I talk myself out of it. I have never even owned apiece of their jewelry but have been very impressed by the catalog and by what I have read in researching the company. I live about 45 minutes south of New Orleans and have still not been able to establish if their are many reps in my area. It seems to be a well kept secret! LOL Any info would be appreciated. All of your comments have been very helpful also! Thanks! :)
1/6/09 at 4:54 amHi Susan,
It will depend on if you want to sell fashion jewelry or the real thing. Also, who will your customers be? Will they prefer real or fashion? It really is like comparing apples to oranges.
Good luck to you whatever you decide!
1/14/09 at 1:59 amCat,
If you go to silpada.com and click on Contact Silpada, there’s a drop down, then click on Find a Silpada Rep. Just fill out the form and they will put you in touch with someone in your area.
thanks
1/14/09 at 2:03 amI can tell all of you interested in Sapada Jewelry that when I went to a party, the first thing I thought when I saw this Jewelry was,”Looks so ugly!!” and cheaply made. Then when I saw the prices I was thinking,”You have got to be kidding me!!” Looks like something I can make from Michaels Craft store. Really ugly and cheap looking IMO. I felt sorry for the Rep. No one bought anything and I felt she was wasting her time trying to sell this junk. Even if it is real, it is ugly for the most part. I looked through the catalog trying in vain to find a piece I liked. I did find a pair of earrings but for the price, I could find the same at Wal-mart, cheaper. YUK. I think the ones that rave about this product are Reps.
1/25/09 at 11:51 pmHello,
Just had to add my two cents worth, I guess. Part of what makes us all so unique is that we have our own/different opinions, likes, and dislikes. What a boring place this world would be if everyone were just like me or you! Silpada is NOT for everyone, just as Lia Sofia, Premier Designs, etc. is NOT for everyone. However, what I have learned of Silpada has impressed me so very much that I am signing on with them the end of Feb. (or as soon as I receive my tax return!). :) Although the style may not suit everyone’s taste, I would dare to argue that the quality is definitely hard to rival, especially in the MLM jewelry world. The co-founders work very hard to ensure that each piece is hand-crafted of the finest natural materials. I would much rather add one of these individualized pieces to my collection than dare to find something “cheaper” in price and quality at Wal-mart, but as I have already stated, we are ALL entitled to our opinions. That’s one of the things that makes America so great!
To sum up what I have said…..If you are considering Silpada, I say, “Go for it!” You truly do have nothing to loose, and will, at the very least, walk away with a steal of a deal on some truly beautiful jewelry pieces to enjoy. And, who knows, you may just be the next Sterling Director. That’s where I plan to be!

1/27/09 at 2:32 amYour site has made me smile :-)
2/1/09 at 8:31 amConcerning Premier Jewelry, I used to sell it years ago. And I found it embarrassing! Why? Because when I would go to a “department store”, I’d see some of the exact same mold designs, and the only difference was a different color stone for example, and it was FAR cheaper. If the same item from Premier was $45, I’d see it in the store for $18, for example. Very embarrassing. Sure, many of my customers wouldn’t know. But I did! I lost respect for the company.
The above is why I’d much rather sell the sterling jewelry companies, because there don’t appear to be “molds” that could be chosen by several companies.
I’m still trying to decide between Silpada and five other sterling jewelry companies. I definitely love what I’m seeing in the Silpada catalog. Some of the others seems to have smaller, flimsier looking pieces which I don’t like, or they are far less creative than Silpada.
But, with Silpada, I’m concerned about returns I hear about, or the reps having to pay for the shipping. I also worry if the small easy-going, not a lot of money community I live in would buy it!! Scary. lol
2/14/09 at 8:09 amHello,
Do any of you Silpada jewelers know anything about Inspiranza? I’m wondering if the quality of their jewelry even compares to Silpada. Thanks for the help. Just need to know what the differences may be.

2/22/09 at 11:42 pmI have been a Silpada Rep for 7+ months and I must say that I love this company! It is a dream Direct Sales company. The jewelry is unique and I know that everyone that has bought things from me loves what they got. I have some customers will be customers for life. The hostess benefits are great! And as much as I love the jewelry, I love the company just at much. They are the most responsive, helpful, loyal bunch of people! I did not do any research really… I just loved the jewelry soo much I wanted to be able to wear all of it and being a rep is the best way to do that. So I really lucked out :)
2/26/09 at 5:19 pmI am actually having a Conference Call this evening with two of Silpadas Reps. One is a top dog and one is a rep who has been in for a few years and is already making six figures. I have been thinking about becoming a rep for a year now and I believe it’s time to take the plunge. I live in East, TX and there are not many reps here at all. I have bought 2 pieces and the quality is wonderful…925 to be exact … hello… so for anyone to say its not is just uneducated and possibly quite neggative. Im looking forward to the Silpada Experience!!!
3/6/09 at 7:34 pmHello all! I just retired as a Silpada Rep and am selling my inventory. If anyone is interested in puchasing some pieces I can forward you my list. Just email me at amblainie@msn.com and type in the memo line “SILPADA INQUIRY”. I’m discounting everything for 30% off and a $4 shipping charge to most of the U.S.
3/13/09 at 8:13 pmHello ladies! I have been a Silpada representative for almost a year and I cannot say enough GREAT things about this company! Not only are the pieces beautiful, but the customer service, training and incentives you get from corporate are outstanding!
I am a rep in Charlotte, North Carolina and I would love to help other ladies achieve their goals with Silpada. If you have any questions or would like more information, please email me at erinpadgett@hotmail.com.
Sterling Wishes!
3/14/09 at 11:29 pmI did a lot of research and found Silpada was the best choice for me. I just signed on this week. I am waiting to receive my jewelry on Friday! If anyone on Long Island, NY is looking for a party, please contact me I would love to hear from you. email me at lovejake@optonline.net Looking foward to many drapping everyone I know in silver!
3/19/09 at 1:38 amSilpada really is a great company…excellent income potential and a superior product that has a LIFETIME GUARANTEE – you could probably comparethe quality of the .925 sterling silver to Tiffany, but Silpada prices are much more affordable to more people and….I don’t think Tiffany’s warranty is as generous!
3/19/09 at 4:16 pmIf you’re interested in checking out the business opportunity, the Silpada founders and corporate training staff will be hosting information sessions throughout the country in April & May.
For example, they will be in
Boston, MA on April 2nd at the Park Plaza Hotel, 6 – 9 pm….
It’s a great way to get a feel for the company & its philosophy…and if you’re already a rep & haven’t been to a National Conference, get to one of these events and see who you’re representing!!
More locations: April..MN, MI, IN, IL
May…KS, AZ, TX, OH, NH, NJ
If you’d like more info or want to register, contact me: dmcdon1963@aol.com
The events are free, but pre-registration is required so that they can plan for refreshments & seating.
Jewelry is fun & makes us feel good about ourselves – we all need a little fun, and hey, if you can earn a living at the same time, why not?
Sterling Blessings!
It is so fun to find other women out there who love Silpada as much as I! I worked for another Jewelry company for one year and I was so embarassed over the poor quality of the jewerly. I always was making returns! One friend of mine suggested Silpada and I never have regretted it! The only returns I have made with this company is because of ring sizing. The company pays for all returns! I haven’t had to pay for any! If anyone wants more information I would be glad to share! I am a retired school teacher and highly recommend it! I live in southwest Ohio! Silpada is a company I am proud to represent!
3/28/09 at 10:08 pmHello,
Just wondering how sales have been for everyone with this economic downturn we have been thrust into. It has been my experience that women are still buying jewelry. I have scheduled my Grand Opening for this coming Thurs. and guess I just need a little assurance. I’m crazy about this jewelry and simply love to wear it!
Thanks for any input.
