Premier Designs Jewelry?

Am I missing something important here? I had never ever heard of the Premier Designs jewelry company until today, when one of our readers posted a comment on a previous article about Lia Sophia. Does anyone have more information about this, other than that they have a pretty small website located at premierdesigns.com?

*there used to be a picture here, but Premier Designs asked me to take it down. Is there ANYONE who can send me some copyright free Premier Designs Jewelry photos? If so: thanks in advance!
Apparently they’ve been around in the US for over 22 years… Anyone can enlighten me? And what does the bible have to do with the jewelry? :D ;-)

Hello I am independent distributor of Premier Designs High Fashion Jewelry. It is a great company to both work for and buy from!! Everything they sell and/or make is gauranteed for life!!! We have a wide variety of high fashion jewelry which is sure to please everyone!! We have a catalogue over 100 pages long with sterling silver, gold and silver, swarvorsky crystals, and other genuine gems. As for the bible content, Andy and Joan, the founders, have a strong belief in the principles of God’s word. They feel God brought them on this journey and without his support the company would not be the success it is today!!

Thanks, Nicole! Anywhere I can get my hands on such a catalogue in Europe?

I just happened to run across this website, and I just have to let you all know that I just signed up with Premiere today!
Please understand that I was NOT in anyway looking to get into a business like this…but after going to a Cookie Lee and a Lia Sophia party in the last month, THEN attending a Premier party on Tuesday, I was absolutely amazed at the HUGE selection that they offer! The quality of Premier seems to be held to a higher standard than other companies. Plus for me the biblical principles that the founders stand behind were hands-down for me a no-brainer that at least this company had moral and values behind it.
I am completely excited to get started - and from what I have seen from numerous jewlery companies - this one seems to pay the best and compensate the hostess the best also! :)

  6. Rachel

    Deanna,

You have made an excellent decision! I have been selling Premier for 3 years and love it more now than ever! I am actually going to step out in faith and do Premier fulltime at the end of July!
    Are you going to Rally?

  7. Holly

    Hi Ladies,

I am actually looking at becoming a part of Premier Designs and just have not made that final decision for vairous reasons. Can any of you tell me a little about how it has helped you financially and personally. Thank you!!!

  8. Kristin

    Hi gals!
I have been selling Premier for a month now. It has been tough getting started, but I have loved every minute of it and am so glad I made the choice to get into the business. I would recommend it to anyone! And anyone who is interested in hearing more about the business can email me at krispix7@yahoo.com
If you know a jeweler, talk to them! You won’t regret it!

Several years ago my wife became a Premier Jeweler and was able to replace her income from her job as a legal secretary after a very short time. I later became unemployeed for the first time in my life and decided to join her in the business until I found another ” real job ”
We were in the business for six years and it was a life saver for us. The great thing about Premier is that it is always there if you need it. I know that I never have to be unemployed as long as Premier is around.I don’t even know how much the kit is now but what ever the cost it is worth it. The people we met in Premier have been lifetime friends…like family. If you are a self starter you can do the business. We will more than likely rejoin ourselves. If you are employed start partime, 1- 2 shows per week.

  10. Deanna

Hi Holly! I went to a friends party - not at all looking to get in…here’s what did it for me:

    1. I LOVE jewelry! Their selection in the catalog amazed me! TONS to choose from, so I was going to have a party - but a few of my close friends are busy this summer and couldn’t come to mine - but they offered to have a party off of mine BEFORE I even had one! I figured - gosh whatever the cost is to get in, I am sure I could make enough off of at least 3-4 parties to pay for the costs to get in. And the jewerly would be mine anyway…how can you go wrong. I decided to do it! :)
    2. I am a christian - the biblical base and backing behind this company seems very very strong. I checked with the Better Business Bur. (and I encourage you to do the same)make sure you look under Premier Designs INC. There “track” record compared to other similar companies was a good indicator that this company was legit - and treated their customerers AND their jewlers like GOLD.
3.The gal who signed me up was not pushy or phonny - you know if you get a good and legit feeling with someone. The closer to me was that she said if I decided in 30 days I didn’t like doing this - she would buy my kit back at wholesale from me - so I would be out too much. I know the bottom line looks like a big one - but I truely belive that if a company makes it SO cheap to get in - there is no value on their product.
Good Luck! I have my first traning show on Monday and I am so excited! :)

  15. Heather

My name is Heather. I started my career with Premier about 2 months ago and I love it. I am still trying to build up my business. I currently stay home with my 2 children plus I do foster care. So doing home shows is a great time for me to get adult time :). If anybody has any advice for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and have a fabulous week.

I apologize if this is not the right place to make this kind of comment, as I think the jewelry is probably very nice and appeals to people who like fashion jewelry.
I have a friend who sells this jewelry and I have told her several times I am just not interested in buying it or having a party of my own, although I told her she could use my home if she wanted and have also tried to refer others to her.
However, she called last week with a request that I come to her home and help her with her furniture arrangement and selecting some new furniture, which I said I would do as a favor for free, as I am in the business of home staging. I told her I would come and help her, but was bringing my small grandson with me.
When we arrived, she was just starting a jewelry show and about six women were sitting on her couch with jewelry on! She told me to put my grandson in a room where her small unattended son was sitting all alone in a high chair, and the room was blocked off by a safety gate. I was almost brokenhearted and shocked that this woman would be so deceptive and waste my time with my grandson as well!
As far as I understand “Biblical Principles”, the activities of a hostess would be based on truth and honesty, not lies and deceptiveness.
After spending about 15 minutes with her totally undisciplined and misbehaving son, I decided the most loving thing I could do would be to take my grandson and try to salvage the rest of the day, which we did.
I HOPE this is an isolated case. I can’t believe women are reduced to preying on other women to gain status or money or whatever is important in Premier Designs. Relationship certainly didn’t seem to be emphasized. I checked the website and found refernces to “missions” and “biblical principles”, but absolutely not one word of supporting evidence to that.
Yes, my feelings ARE hurt! I think what she did was very cold. I don’t think I would ever be able to really trust this person.

  17. Juli

    Kahni,

I too hope this was an isolated incident. It is not Premier Designs practice to deceive anyone. Apparently this lady doesn’t share the same principles as Premier. I truly hate that your only experience with Premier Designs was a bad one. I am an independent distributor with Premier and I can tell you first hand that they are founded on biblical principles and that the profit that the company makes from the sale of the jewelry is used to support various missions around the world. It also has the best hostess plan of any direct sales companies around as well as the best compensation for us working moms who choose to become independent distributors. Your friend probably thought she was doing you a favor by inviting you to the show but she shouldn’t have done it dishonestly. I hope that you will not hold this one ladies mistake against the company as a whole. It truly is an awesome business to be a part of. If anyone would like more information please feel free to email me at jmcleland@mindspring.com.

  18. Heather

I am so sorry to hear about that sitution. I am very upfront with everyone. I know that I have family and friends who will never attend my show and I never pressure them. I understand that it is not for everyone.

I know that Tim & Joan Horner (owners of the company) strive on service to our customers and not on what we will make. Yes this is our job but I try to create friendship with my guests even if they never purchase anything. For me it’s not about the money it about getting women together having a fun evening out.

I’m sorry again and I hope that you don’t hold that against Premier.

Hello, I’d just like to share an incredible story about Premier. In the past I have been a part of other home based businesses. I didn’t do well and decided to never try again. I’ve been to a couple of Premier parties and the Distributor seemed so inviting and friendly. I decided to give Premier a try. One day I was training with my Premier Mom and the phone rang, I let the machine get it not realizing it was Premier welcoming me to the company!!! I couldn’t believe it!! The very next day, I received a phone call from the Prayer team at Premier. My husband was undergoing a kidney biopsy and she had been told by my Premier Mom and called to pray with me! As you can imagine, I cried!!! We were on the phone for 30 minutes and I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have answered the phone. Then just a couple of days later, I got another call from the home office (this time I thought I was in trouble, no company has called me this much) and the nice lady on the phone said she had left a message for me the other day to welcome me and just wanted to call back and get a live voice and say hello. Isn’t that incredible!?! I have only been with Premier 2 weeks. I had my training show tonight and am ready to start my business. I praise God for bringing this opportunity my way. What a blessing ! I know there may be bad parts to a business, but WOW…this is fabulous ! Blessings to all…

    Hi,

I am thinking about joining the Premier team. I love the jewlery but I am not sure if I could afford the $400 fee to get started. What do you get with that fee anyways? Also out side of friends, family and co-workers what are some of the selling strategies to get complete strangers to have a show? I just want to be sure this is something I can do before I join… any help would be appreciated…

    Thanks!

    Dear Ladies,

I have been a Premier Jeweler for 5 years now. There have been good times and bad. Which were all brought on by my own doings. As one Premier Jeweler once said “God can not bless inactivity.” If I work MY business then it works WELL for me, however if I do nothing I get nothing. I have made lifelong friends through Premier. Our National Rally is about making our lives better and not about SELL, SELL, SELL. Premier has allowed me to quit my job and be a stay at home mom for my three children. I have bought new furniture, taken vacations, and paid cash for Christmas with my earnings from my jewelry shows. If you could use an extra $500 (or more it is up to you)a month check into Premier. For more info E-mail me at dna_hargus@yahoo.com. Thank you for letting me brag about a great company.

I am a Premier Designs Jeweler and approaching my 1 year anniversary, too! I have had a blast, made new friends, learned a ton about myself and made money too. I love Premier and all that the company stands for. Just a quick side note, the founders are ANDY and Joan Horner (not Tim as noted here:

    Hello Ladies!!,
I have been an independant distributor for Premier for just over a year now. In the begining it was AWESOME!! And as my life began to get crazy, I neglected Premier, and my buisness suffered. I have now moved to a VERY small town in Georgia, and I do not know ANYONE!!! And I am going to get started again!!!
I am going to have to be the one DOING the training now, not just going to the training!! I am a little freaked out, but I am sure everything will go just fine. No One else has to know how freaked out I am….. Hopefully we will get some more distributors near here…. at the moment this area has not been tapped. So here it goes!!!
I am excited for those of you that just began with Premier, and for those of you that are interested in learning more about Premier. This is the first step. Have a blast!!!! And make a little money too…..

Hello ladies! I just found this blog today and thought after reading so many entries on Premier that I’d add my two cents! I happened up on this as I’m helping my cousin to research a biz that she wants to start. Not looking really good for what I’ve found on them, so I wanted to see what’s out here about Premier. This August 19th was my 5th Anniversary with the AWESOME company! I started literally because my mother went to a show and told me I should do it. I’d never seen a show, could have cared less about the whole God thing and really didn’t seem to get tingles about the jewelry in the catalog. What I came to LOVE though was the way I was treated and cared about, even when I couldn’t sell a thing. How people checked on me and my husband when we went through rough times. How my upline, sideline and downline, calls me just to say “hello”. How Andy and Joan send me handwritten notes of thanks and encouragement for the singing I do at our rallies and EVERY birthday and anniversary. How they recognize me in a sea of jewelers and call me by name. How I KNOW that I am loved and appreciated not for what I can produce but just because…IT’S PHENOMENAL! I am a Two Diamond Designer, which basically means I’ve sponsored people that sponsored people and it equates FOR ME to between 80 & 100 people in our 10-10-10. Our monthly income is ASTOUNDING compared to what I’d make at a 40 hour per week job. I stay home with my two little people (3 & 7) and I wouldn’t trade this business for any other opportunity out there. If you are looking for a company that cares, does the right thing, stands for the right thing, and feels that you are at least worth HALF of everything you sell, you CAN NOT AFFORD to NOT check out Premier. The website may not be much but keep in mind they want us to build personal relationships with our jeweler family. You can’t do that via computer. The jewelry is the BEST! The Golden Guarantee is GREAT! The people are AWESOME! The income is SECOND to NONE! You will not regret your decision if you are willing to work and not quit. If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme, don’t bother going to the site. You get paid when you work with Premier. It’s that simple. I truly hope this helps someone. Be sure to call 800-486-7378 to find a rep in your area that can share the biz with you or just mail a catalog. You can also reach me at 734-325-2450

    Barb Feaser,

This is a cool blog! Not quite sure what I am doing, but that is okay. I felt like that when I first started Premier and there were people there to help me along the way. We say “Even though you are in business for yourself, you are not in business by yourself”. Love that!o it, evenif they never see one penny from it. It is not about the money but the joy we get in serving one another and other women out in the homes across America. Oh the money is great to, there is no better plan in all of direct selling! People will help you and are happy to do it.
What ever I can do to help you, please let me know. This company changed our entire family’s life. God is big and Premier is built on His word. It is amazing!

Well Ihave bought Premier for about 6 year snow. AND I loved it until I ran into a lady who sels Cookie Lee, and it blew me away. It is gorgeous AND affordable for a mother of FOUR. Yes I have four kids at home, can’t really afford a $75 necklace & if I want a bracelet to match, there went lunch money for a week. SO I had a Cookie Lee show. It was so much fun. I signed up & I am having a blast. The company has called me four times to wish me well & ask if I need any help. My Senior director flew down to have a training for me & a few other newbees. It’s a wonderful company too!! I have received many emails from ladies in my upline offering to help & just moral support. I even had one lady sign up under me my first month. Its not a “sit through a long presentation home show”, It’s a come & go — try it on, if you want it you can buy it from me that night not wait weeks to get it. AND VERY affordable. The best part all my working friends, with children can afford it! I am not knocking Premier I have many lovely pieces from them & one of my best friends sells it. BUT I prefer Cookie Lee!!

Hello All! I’m a Partylite girl but I just attended a Premier Show and WOW I am impressed! I love the jewelry…but was impressed with the underlying spirituality of the company. It’s not in your face but you sure can tell it’s there! I just have one question for you Jewelers out there…what is the extra hostess incentive for Sept and if anyone knows October…I sure did love the jewelry and would love to get in on any bonus!!! I know what my hostess extras are usually a month-month in a half early…so I’m bringing it to you girls (guys) Thanks to all!

    God Bless!

I just hosted a Premier party this past weekend because my friend from college just started selling it and I agreed to do a show for her. It was really fun, and I got $415 in free jewelry based on my show sales. I’m thinking about doing it part time for extra cashe alongside my 40 hour work week. However, I was told by a third party to be careful because no legitimate company makes you pay $1200 to start working for them and that it is a pyramid scheme. Can anyone give me some insight regarding this?

    Many Thanks.

  37. Mark

    @Laura

I have two sisters who sell Premier (one full time) and I sent out the documents this morning for my wife to sign up.

This is NOT a pyramid scheme. You sign up “under” someone who is supposed to be a mentor and to help you get your business started. Then they make a commission on a percentage of your sales but if they don’t work at all during any given month (there’s a certain dollar limit… $600, I think), they get $0 commission. So it forces people to keep working in order to get commission checks from their “down-line.”

How much would you have to pay to ‘distribute’ McDonalds hamburgers? It costs tens of thousands of dollars to get into a business like that. Is McDonalds a legitimate business for making you purchase the right to use their name and materials and purchase a building, etc, etc.?

As I understand it, the $400 is simply a fee for the right to distribute Permier Designs Jewelry. The other $750 for the “Presidents Package” is to start off your inventory so that you have pieces to show at the parties instead of passing around a catalog. In my opinion, it would be better to have a few samples of the product you’re trying to sell. Mind you, probably no one has EVERY piece in the catalogs, but if you have a large enough selection of the more popular pieces you’ll sell more! The Presidents Package is a killer deal at $750 for $2000 retail value of the product to start up your business.

I think that ANY legitimate company has an initial investment that you have to pay out to start the business. Your third-party is incorrect.

I hope I’ve been able to answer some of your questions… as I said, my wife is brand new to this but I’ve known of the company and their top-notch products for over 7 years that my one sister has been selling.
If you have any other questions, my email address is on my website (linked to my name above)

    Hi Laura!
I had to be the most skeptical “potential” new Premier Designs jeweler, but I took the plunge in hopes of supplementing my full-time Project Manager job. Exactly one year later (I just received my annual renewal packet), I have an amazing testimony to Premier–the company, the product, and the potential. I welcome the opportunity to share my story with you (or anyone interested). I can be reached at 616.402.9071 or thejewelrydiva@yahoo.com.

Hi Laura! :) I can tell you it is not a pyramid scheme. If you want more information on the Premier send me an email and I will talk to you about it. I have a lot of information and could help you out. How many companies give you 50% of your sales and you get paid first? That is awesome. I tried Mary Kay, Avon, and multiple other things and this time I finally found a great company! Send me an email!

Thanks. Looking forward to talking/emailing with you!!

I just happened upon this blog. I, too, am an independent jeweler with Premier Designs and have just re-signed to begin my 3rd year. I’ve come a long way since 2005 and have Premier to thank for that. Its the relationships that far outweigh the money you have the potential of making in this business. Yes, Premier is built on biblical principals that help guide business decisions, What is right and What is best, are always forefront in the founders minds. Andy and Joan Horner (founders - Tim was just named the President at National), are fair, honest, caring people who not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. I am honored and blessed to be part of such an awesome, caring company who puts PEOPLE first. Can’t say that of “corporate america” today.

I love what I do and I love what it has done for me. God works in very mysterious ways…

    Hello everyone!

I just stumbled across this site, and I love it! It is amazing to hear how Premier has blessed so many! I am also an independant distributor for Premier Designs. Like many others have said there is no other company that can compare! If anyone is reading this and is on the fence of whether or not they want to join premier I urge you to do so. If you are like me and the many others who have posted comments you will be thankful that you joined. I have made the best of friends being in premier, I am able to contribute to our household income, and I am constantly meeting great new women! Premier is a GREAT company because we are based upon Biblical princaples, I am not saying premier is a christian company because it is not, Premier the company does not have a place in Heaven; however many premier jewelers do (including myself). What I am saying is that Andy and Joan Horner have done their best to instill the values of intregity, love, honesty, and service into all of us jewelers. I LOVE serving others, and am thankful I have the opportunity to do so with Premier. Questions or comments feel free to email me
God Bless and have a great week!!!

Hi everyone! Like most of the respondents here, I just happened to find this space tonight. I mailed out my money today to finally begin selling this beautiful jewelry. I was looking for any advice that you all have on how to begin getting the shows booked. I am in a relatively small town, and family and friends will soon run out, leaving me wondering how to get started with strangers. Do you leave catalogs at the hair stylist’s, the banks, etc. Help!!! I will be happy to take all the advice I can get, so that I can be as successful as you all seem to be. You can email me at boys_mommy@yahoo.com Thanks for all your help!

Hey everyone! I just joined Premier’s Family in August and will have my training show on Tuesday - I’m so excited. My family was visiting friends in Texas (They are independent distributors) and she explained the business side- and I was on the fence, but then when she was explaining the support and one-on-one attention from your up-line, etc, we left her house “discussing” it. By the time we had driven to New Mexico, my husband and I had decided to go into business as a team. Our new “mom” in Premier was/is awesome throughout the whole process. She’s checked on my every few days since signing up just to see if I needed anything from her, and that she’s always there for me. She just called last week, mind you, I haven’t even had my training show that she’s flying out for, and she has invited me to Premier’s getaway - Haven of Hope - I booked a flight immediately! What other company can say that? I received phone calls welcoming me and post-cards as well. I’m excited about helping California put it’s name on the Premier Designs map! If anyone is in the Southern California area, let me know.

Hello everyone. I hope you all are having a blessed day! I know that I am. I just wanted to add a little to all that has been said. Every positive thing that you hear about Premier is so true!! I have been selling for about 2 1/2 months and I love it. I am a single mom of a 7 year old boy and it has helped me in so many ways. I get to spend more time with him and now we have money to do fun things together. I could not provide that for him before. Premier has opened my eyes to the best son that a mother could ever have and I am so thankful that I now have a chance to see that! I would like to thank Lori, my sponsor. She has been God sent to me! I was really struggling with money and so I thought that I could check it out. She never pressured me to join or even buy the product. I have been buying Premier for over 10 years and just now thought about selling it. The 1st thing Lori did for me when I met her was pray!!! That sold me right there. For an other person whom knew nothing about me and she wanted to pray for me and if Premier for was for me, how awesome is that! I knew then that I could not walk away from this. God sent her to me as a sister in Christ and to help me financially. Thanks Premier you have changed my life!!

I have to say, this has gotten me excited, reading about Premier… my Aunt has been in the company now for only a few months but has called me several times telling me to look at Premier for extra money. I have been quietly contemplating it but now I think even with a 50 hour work week, I am ready to try it. I really think I can do this and make the extra money I want to make at it. Thank you all for your replies here. They are so encouraging. If you have any other information you can share with me about Premier and why to join, email me at cjcritz@yahoo.com

    Thanks.

I have left 3 emails at the main website in the past 2 months, for someone to send me a catalog or send me to a consultant website to purchase some jewelry. I have heard nothing. I came across this area, and thought I would leave my email for some to contact me and send me a catalog. I saw a lady while on vacation who had a large freeform/floating heart with rhinestones on one side and smooth on the other, necklace that I would love to have.
So if anyone is out there I would love to hear from you,

  48. Heather

I am still fairly new with the company. I am having trouble getting bookings. Can anyone email me with some advice. Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone I kinda happened upon this website but I was also looking for thr pro & cons of being a premier design child as they put it. The person I would sign up under is a friend of mine and we had not spoke in about three years not because of being mad at eachother or anything they had moved and in your daily lives you lose track but out of the blue one night I called her just to catch up and we started talking about premier and she has been in it for three years now and I’m a firm beliver in things happen for a reason so we both talk about their being a reason I called her was it premier and is this something I’m supose to do, but also I am the type of person who doesn’t just jump into something eaither without thinking it through and really investagating it as much as I can. I’ve talked to several people about having shows for me and as I read you normally have 4-6 shows set before you start well I won’t just settle for that I set my goal at 12 and I’ve already gotten 9 people to say yes will help you but in getting those 9 people I’ve also gotten people that said that there daughter or friend or someone they know USE to do that so that made me wonder why it was they USE to do it. Like I said in the begining I’m not one to jump into something and would like the PRO’s and CON’s of this. So any help with my delima would be apprecited. you can email me at tarowland@insightbb.com

    Thank-you
    Tammy

Hi! Just like everyone else, I found this website and couldn’t leave without posting something. I am in my fourth year with Premier and just had one of the best months I have ever had. My retail for August was $4600.00! I am not saying this to brag, but to show people who are interested in joining Premier that it is such an awesome company. Premier stands behind every piece of jewelry and I know they stand behind me! I actually do this as a part time job; I am also a highschool teacher. For anyone who is considering, this will be one of the best choices you could make!!! Please contact me if you have any questions!

  51. Jen O.- Minnesota

This is an amazing blog! I’ve been with Premier since May 2006 and love the company, great support and great people. It flows with your lifestyle, it has helped me pay for a wedding and now I’m back to school and it is my only income. The women I meet are great and men too. I have made tons of new friends and get awesome recipes. I have been growing my Premier family and now have 5 women in my family and they are all wonderful, It’s great to watch them grow and learn and earn an income while doing it. If you are considering Premier you won’t regret it. Best Wishes!

  52. Stephanie

Hi everyone! I just stumbled onto this website and am so encouraged by all of the womens testimonies! I just got started in Premier in June and have encountered many of the same problems that I have read about…not knowing where to get bookings being the largest one. I am averaging about 4 shows a month, but am really wanting to be busier. I know that God will bless my business if I am putting Him first! It will just come in His time and not mine. I had never considered selling anything, especially jewelry before, but God placed Premier in my life. I am a stay-at-home mommy of 2 small boys, and we are struggling just like SO many families out there! If I would not have had Premier, I don’t know what we would have done over that past months. I knew I had made the right choice to join Premier when I sent an email to the prayer team at Premier…(to my surprise, they really do exist!!) The very next day, I received not just an email back, but a personal phone call to pray with me. I have NEVER heard of another company doing anything like that! They not only called once, they have followed up with me several times just to check and see how my prayer needs are! That is just God!! I am so excited to represent a company that actually does not just talk the talk but follows it up with the walk. I am far from perfect, very far, but I pray that I will live up to the reputation of service that Premier prides itself on. I know that every person has times in their lives that they wish they could have done somethings differently, and hopefully the bad experiences that some have experienced with Premier were very isolated incidents. If anyone has any questions that have not been answered or problems that have not been solved, I would love to try to help.

In a completely different direction, Carla had asked earlier about the special in October….from October 12 through November 23, Premier is running a 30-40-50 special. What that means is if you have a home show and sell $100 to $349, you earn 30%. If you sell $350 to $499, you earn 40%, and any show over $500, you earn 50%.

I’d love to talk to anyone about Premier! I think it would be awesome to have a network for discussing different issues that are going on in anyones business or prayer needs as well. Please email me at stephaniewaters1@hotmail.com.

    God bless!
    Stephanie

  54. Nicole Skurjunis

Hi ladies, I was one of the first to post on this site however, I want to take this time to share how Premier hanged my life. My story begins last year on November 9th, my baby was ten weeks old and required open heart surgery. While my son was in surgery, I was pacing the halls of the hospital (side not, children’s hospital of Philadelphia is amazing!!) and I saw a women with the most amazing Cross (the Erin). I basically became obsessed with it. Well the next day, I went to a genetic study and there was the women with my cross. Her daughter was born with the same heart defect. Well we started talking and her inner beauty and guidance got me through the worse experience of my life to date. Anyway, we leave the hospital and remain friends and of course I order my necklace!! Well last January, i dreaded the thought of going back to work as a teacher and shared this with my Premier Mom and she told me about Premier! I was hooked, and needless to say I am a stay at home mommy livng my dream bc of Premier. I love my company and want to share my passion with everyone. So anyone looking to get in or need a pick me up email me at nskurjunis@hotmail.com Premier is fabulous and wonderful, you will never regret your decision, this i promise.

  55. Nicole Skurjunis

Hello Ladies, I just stumbled upon this website, I have been an independent distributor for a year now, I started off with a bang but had to slow down due to personal issues. It is just wonderful reading about how great Premier Designs family really is , my premier mom is wonderful and has stood by me and encouraged me thru everything, now Im back on my feet and ready to meet new people share good times and introduce Premier to the world..!!!

  58. Marnie

    Hello :)

I am also an Independent Consultant for Premier and LOVE it!!!! They are fabulous. If anyone is looking for a consultant in the Tacoma/Seattle area you can contact me. Anyone interested in the business I would defenitely recommend them. This is the 2nd “home based business” I have been involved in and it has NO drawbacks. YAY!!! Email me at mlane@earthlink.net.

  59. Nicole Skurjunis

Sharon, I too just came across your request. I live in Pa, so if I am closer to your surrounding area, I would love to serve you. Thank you for the compliment and I look forward along with the rest of the Premier family to serving you!!

  60. Linda

    Just started with Premier. YIPEE!!!
The product sells itself. I am very excited, and the whole process is broken down into baby steps. Mother of 3 boys. I am planning to suppliment my income. I met my Premier mama at a Chamber function and she glowed with positive energy. My husband sees the sparkle in my eyes as I continue to grow within Premier. I walk into my day job with more confidence than ever before.

  61. Erika

Hi, I wanted to let everyone know I have been w/Premier Designs for about 1 yr. I love it!!!! But I am not going to lie and say it’s easy. I have had my ups and downs…but the best part is that you have the best support group from other jewelers that encourage you and have faith in you! If anything I value the people and integrety of the company more than the jewelry. I am trying also get the courage to put my focus on Premier Designs full time. It is a very large leap of faith! Also they offer lots of trainings to help you be the best you can be. I don’t know many companies that do that. Usually they tell you how bad you have been and you need to get better w/no tools to use. All in All this is a VERY valuable company to get involved in. I highly recommend this business to anyone wanting to own their own business, create their own hours, and most of all…spend more time with your family. If you want to talk to me more about Premier Designs please feel free to email me at mommy_rika@yahoo.com. Also the BEST thing is we do not pressure anyone to buy or sell our jewelry. The jewelry sells itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  62. Traci in Atlanta

How exciting and wonderful to have this outlet to read the testimonies, questions, and comments of Premier jewelers and prospects. Love it! I am a new designer with Premier coming up on my 1yr anniverary in December. I absolutely love Premier and all it stands for. The relationships built, money made, and potential growth make this the best opportunity out there. No it’s not for everyone but it sure should be. If you’re looking for extra money, fun, excitement, a little money, inspiration, encouragement, more money, friends, relationships, lots of money, or even spiritual growth then Premier Designs is for you.

I’m in the Atlanta area and would love to introduce Premier to you. Our jewelry is absolutely gorgeous & affordable (it doesn’t get much better than free) and our opportunity is second to none. Want to find out more, please feel free to email me HostAShow@yahoo.com

  63. Amber in Florida

    Hello Ladies,

Im glad I came across this website. Its great to know that so many people are doing so well and having lots of fun with their Premier Designs businesses. I myself started with Premier in March of this year and I absolutely love it! It really helped me through some hard times those first few months. I bought the presidents package and was able to make my money back in just 3 shows.

My average show has been about $500, that means I leave with $250! What other job can you walk away with $250 that night from just spending a couple of hours playing in jewelry, eating brownies, and giving away free stuff? I sure havent found anything else with a better commission or hostess plan, and trust my I spent allot of time looking. Most other companies only pay out 24% commissions and there hostess plan are terrible, they have to atleast sale around $250-$300 to get rewards, AT Premier the minimum show is $100, and thats it! And we REALLY do have NO QUOTAS! Other companies make claim to not have quotas but you have to spend about $250 every month or so to stay “active”, well that sounds like a quota to me.

So if anyone is out there on the fence, go research for yourself, and you will see that what I said is true. Premier is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY that has helped thousands change their lives.

If anyone wants more info., please dont hesitate to contact me for a catalog or opportunity packet. asimp333@yahoo.com

  64. Marilyn in California

Here is a question I’ve not seen on this blog.

I have bought jewelry from a friend who works with Premier Designs. She asked me if I was interested in becoming a jeweler, and my problem (other than the money) is this:

I am Jewish. It seems as though Premier Designs is very religiously oriented, and I have trouble with a company that doesn’t even seem to carry a Star of David.

Has anyone ever had this issue raised? This is a huge struggle for me to overcome.

    Many thanks.

  65. Joan

    (Chicagoland Area)

I see there are ladies looking to get in the ‘jewelry’ direct selling market. I did my homework and had reps come from various companies. You need to do the comparison and pay attention to the details. It took me extra time but it certainly paid off.

If anyone needs help in this area please email me and I’ll be glad to assist.

    Have a Blessed Day…

    Hello Everyone:

I have read this whole blog and no one has said exactly what you get for $400. Is it just papers or do you get jewelry? I am considering the opportunity, but what am I getting for my money?

  70. Michelle86

    Hello Ladies:

I have read this whole blog and no one has said exactly what you get for $400. Do you just get paperwork or jewelry?

  71. Christa H.

    Hi Ladies,
I am so happy to see that you all are happy with Premier!!
I am coming up on my 1Yr. Anniv., and will be having my renewal show at the end of the month. I love Premier for so many reasons…
Most of all the people that I have met and established relationships with.
I was an office manager of a 4 Doctor practice for 13 yrs, and was layed off. I had a 1yr. old and a 5 yr old at the time. I was not willing to go back in management FT and hardly ever see my kids, or put them in aftercare all day…. I saw a friend (who was a drug rep in my prev. practice) she asked me if I would like to have a show. I received 224.00 in FREE JEWELRY. Then, my wheels started turning, and I asked how much she made. 50% ! I was sold!
Premier has been a blessing. I do 1 show a week, providing extra income and allowing me to be here for my children.
If anyone has any questions, ideas about shows, or wants info about Premier.. please feel free to email me at christapremier@yahoo.com
    Blessings!!!!!Boynton Bch.,FL

  72. Ann

Do any of you distributors know how I can order a replacement earring? I don’t remember the name of the jewelry set, I purchased it about 3 yrs ago and it doesn’t show up in the current catalogs. I am currently living in Asia and lost one of the earrings, but hate to have to quit wearing the set together. Maybe I can email someone a picture. Is it possible to ship items overseas?

  73. Judy

Hi guys! I sell both Homemade Gourmet and Mary Kay products and I am looking for someone to trade products for a Premier jewelry set that I have my eye on!!!

    Please contact me at judy_roberts@sbcglobal.net

    Thanks!

  74. nicole skurjunis

Ann and Michelle please personally message me any questions you have and I would love to help you. Ann, also send me the picture and I will see what I may do for you. My email is Nskurjunis@hotmail.com

  75. Jewelgirl

Hello Ann! I would LOVE to try and help you find the earring you are looking for! If you could e-mail me a picture, I should be able to help!
    amyvermont@sbcglobal.net

  76. Michelle

Are there any jewelers in Michigan?

  77. Stephanie

Hi Ann….If you could take a picture of the earring and email it to me, I’d be happy to look in past catalogs to find it and see if it is still available. Sometimes, even though things are in the current catalog, they still have some in stock. Also, I have a large network of consultants around me, so it is possible they may have a pair they used as display that they may want to part with. I’m not positive if Premier ships overseas directly, but I could mail it to you if not. My email address is stephaniewaters1@hotmail.com.

I look forward to being able to help you get your set back together!!

    Stephanie

What do you receive for the $400 start-up fee?

Why is it that so many Independent Distributors are posting on this site, but NO ONE has answered Michelle’s request of what you get for the $400 start-up fee? While reading through this page, I’ve seen that question asked 3 times and no answer! That seems very odd to me. Is it that you are not supposed to help people get started unless they are part of your “down-line?” I am considering joining this company and would also like to know what you get for that $400 start-up fee. I have scheduled a show with my local independent distributor for a month from now, but in the mean time, I want as much information as I can obtain. Please help by answering that simple question. You may email JMinor_Art@hotmail.com for this purpose and this purpose only. No junk mail or forwards, please.
    Thanks and God bless!

  80. mary

hi, I’ve been with premier for about a year now and I have to say I’m not so sure if I will be renewing again. I have made great money, but I have also had so many disatisfied customers due to broken or tarnished jewelry. It seems like every week I get several calls for returns.I have had customers receive their pieces broken.I feel that I can compare this jewelry to Target’s jewelry and Target’s is cheaper! I know I should expect returns but for the price we are selling these pieces they should last longer. Some of my own pieces from my display have tarnished and I have never worn them. Don’t get me wrong, its a great company in the sense that our hostess get a lot of free stuff, and we make a great profit, but I sometimes feel guilty because I know the jewelry won’t last. I have sponsored one person and she has the same problem. No one at my training ever talks about returns like its taboo. Can anyone please give me their input on this matter. thanks

  81. LeAnn

Hi Everyone!! I have been selling Premier for 3 months and it was the best decision I have ever made. I have been going steady for the entire time and I truly love it!! I hope to be able to do Premier full time soon and live the dream. If anyone would like information or if there is anything that I can do for anyone, please contact me at premierdesigninc@gmail.com. I would love to help you!!

  82. Lexy

I have a pretty PD bracelet that I’m trying to identify. It is a silver cuff in a basket weave design. Thanx for any info.

  83. Carolyn

I have also read the entire blog and am very amazed at how each and everyone on this blog as really enjoyed the business with Premier Designs.

I have been approached on other business’ such as Mary Kay, Arbonne, and several others. Neither have really made an impression for me nor has it really given me a spark to move forward. Based on your comments, would you please provide me with answers to the following questions.

    1. Average amount of money you make per show on either a part-time and full-time basis?

    2. Do you feel you bombard friends to holding shows or do you feel this business really helps you to grow your business and friendships?

    3. Additional ideas or comments not mentioned in comments listed.

    4. Coaching and support?

I am considering moving forward but still have these questions that I would like for others to answer for me.

Thank you and many blessings for your business.

  84. Lisa in Redding CA

    Hi Ladies!

I just had my training show 2 weeks ago. I sold alot of jewelry but did not get one booking :( I am working on getting a few friends and neighbors to help get me started with my first few bookings. I am excited about the new business and hope to continue building a downline in the years to come. I love that Premier is built on a foundation of solid morals and ethics. It’s not just about selling jewelry and making money, it’s about touching peoples lives in a positive way. It is great to read about all the enthusiastic jewelers, and all the positive input about Premier.

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on getting bookings? Also, I would love to know if there are any Jewelers on this blog who are in the Northern CA area.

  85. Deanna

    Hi Ann,
I would be happy to try to help you with your earring situation. Please feel free to email me at deannabutler@small-sites.com if you have not had the opportunity to connect with another distributor before now.

  86. Jessica

I have signed up with Premier and I am having so much trouble booking shows or getting anyone to show up. I believe a lot of it has to do with the area I live in. Yonkers, NY Very Close to Manhattan and we basically have everything at our fingertips. No one seems interested and actually seems bothered to be invited? Help any encouraging words? I just wanna make my start up money back and get out ASAP! Demeter909@aol.com

  87. mary

I guess talking about returns here,is also taboo!!

  88. Deanna

Hey gals! I am going into my 4 month w/Premier and am LOVING it! I got a call today from a gentleman at Premier and my “grandfather” in Premier congratulating me for an outstanding Oct. I couldn’t believe how great of a company that they could take the time to acutally call a jeweler and thank them!!!
I didn’t realize I did that outstanding of an Oct.- but I did 10 shows and $3600.00 in retail! WHEWWOOO!!
Let me tell you how I get bookings…ususally 3-4 per show…PURSES! Free purses!
I go searching for sales or discount stores like Ross…I don’t spend more than $13 per purse…I use those and the totes that the Premier Incentives website has for VERY inexpensive! I promise you I get bookings like CRAZY!
And at the moment I don’t do a booking activity at all! (not that I am against doing that - I just haven’t been using that tool at the moment)
I do a short 10 minute speal on what/who/why about Premier and why I LOVE them! Take abput another 5-7 minutes going over some of the pieces I like and how versitile they are - then let’em loose to play in the jewerly!
So…don’t be dicouraged…try something new! This is working great for me!
    Happy Premier!
    Deanna

  89. Deanna

Mary -just wanted to let you know I have had some returns and honestly there are some pieces that don’t hold up like maybe they should - but I have had absolutely NO problem with returning them. I acutaly take care of the shipping for my customers, and others who aren’t my customers that don’t have a jeweler to deal with.
I make sure though, to tell the customers this high fashion jewerly - so make sure you take it off when you get home - don’t wear it in water, don’t wash dishes in it, don’t sleep in it - it’s not authentic diamonds like at the top end jewerly stores you pay thousands of dollars for.
Make sure you let someone at Premier know your problems - they really do listen and care about their products, jewelers, and customers.

  90. Deanna

Carolyn…Hi just looking at your blog…here are my comments…
    1. $219.30 is the average over my last 10 shows…but remember this time of year is sooooo busy w/people shopping for the holiday. I would say normally between $175-$200.
    2. I actually have people calling me to book shows or have seen how much previous hostesses have earned to host a show. One thing…if people don’t want to use thier home…offer a local coffee shop or somewhere like that, that doesn’t charge to use an extra room.
    3. Premier is awesome and a great way for me to get out of the house and make some decent spending $ and help w/the bills some.
    4. For the Idaho area - we have great local training - but we are not that big yet in the Boise area. My upline is terrific and have formed an awesome friendship with her…along with others in the area.

Feel free to email me w/any other questions !:)

I’ve been reading this website for some reason tonight, and I kept seeing the question about the $400. I wanted to get the answer, so I asked my wife who sells PD, and is doing great by the way, what the answer is, so here it is, straight out of the Opportunity pamphlet, thingy. I hope this answers your questions:

    $395 Authorization and Application Fee

The following BENEFITS are included for one year:
    1. Authorization to represent Premier Designs as and Independent Distributor. This gives you the right to purchase products form the company at wholesale prices and sponsor other people into your Sales Organization.
    2. The Jeweler’s Handbook — a helpful guide for your business
    3. Literature Package — material to get you started
    4. Audio Training –training from our top leaders
    5. Home Show Training Video — helps you develop your own Home Shows
    6. A monthly report reflecting all your personal Retail and that of your Premier Family, including Commission Check (if applicable)
    7. Filing of State Sales Tax, except where precluded by applicable law
    8. Ground shipping, handling and insurance on all personal shipments
    9. Pre-Packing of individual orders for each Customer and Hostess
    10. Direct Toll-Free 800 Numbers to the Premier Designs Home Office to serve your needs
    11. A web site for Jewelers to help track and place orders, keep up to date with current promotions, training tools and much more.

So to answer your question, no this $395 doesn’t include jewelery, but does give you everything you need to get started with catalog shows. I hope this helps.

  92. Nancy

$395 fee. I went to a PD training session last night simply to learn about the business opportunity. Here’s what I was told about the $395 fee. It covers Supplies & Services. Supplies would include 12 catalogs, training manual, home show video, invitations, order forms, etc. Services are for 1 yr and include sales tracking, sales tax filing, personal freight for 1 yr, packaging of orders. These services will cost $350 for the second year. No samples are included but you are offered 3 different plans to purchase samples, including a 90 days same as cash plan. I haven’t made a decision yet, but it sounds interesting.

  93. brandi

Premier Designs Jewely is not worth the price to me!! I love the jewelry, but it just does not hold up! I understand there is a lifetime warranty, but I have had to mail back multiple pieces (mostly necklaces and bracelets) and it is inconvenient to have to keep sending it back. I’m wondering when the next piece will break! Will it be right before an important engagement? Will it break while I am at a party or event? I agree with the other lady that posted, they have jewelry just as nice at Target or JC Penney/ Macys that is less expensive… The only jewelry I haven’t had a problem with yet are the earrings! And don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the jewelry and think it is definately fashionable and cute, but I can’t stand having “cheaply made” jewelry that just.. breaks! I also recently held a catalog show, and found it really inconvenent that my out of town guests could not view a catalog or place an order online… or maybe I’m just spoiled because I am an Independant Consultant for another home-based business that is very internet savvy. http://www.pamperedchef.biz/chadandbrandi Hopefully premier designs will be able to improve the quality of their jewelry and get technologically up to speed with their website so customers can more easily place internet orders! That would really make me excited!

    Jessica,

It is now Nov 8th….. I do not see any encouraging words for Jessica…. or answers to the question about the $400 start up fee (what it covers)….

Seems like most of the sellers are busy trying to get more hostess, so they can peddle more over priced jewelry.

I am not a Premier Seller…. nor do I want to be one…

Jessica, I truly hope you are able to recover your losses….
and you are probably not the only person out there to have lost money…. somebody has to lose, either you or the customer.

I think that the jewlery looks okay, but it is extremely over priced and will not last very long..

Someone said about Target’s jewelry being cheaper.
Cato’s Sterling Silver at least has a .925 mark on it….

What I have seen of Premier, they don’t even have that…. (Sterling Silver)

When the hostess gets 30% and the distributor gets 50% of the sale, for a total of 80%….. and you know Andy will get his share…. that makes the value of the jewelry awfully cheap. There is not telling how much of a markup is on it…..

    My thoughts….

    Jan,
I’m sorry, but you’re woefully uninformed about how the Premier hostess plan works.

    In a nutshell… a Hostess holds a show and the show grosses $400.00 -
    1. The Jeweler gets 50% of the gross sales for $200.00
    2. The Hostess gets to select 30% of the gross sales - or $120.00 - in free jewelry, of her choice
    3. The Hostess also has the option of selecting 4-8 pieces of additional jewelry at 1/2 price. This actually can add to the gross totals and result in additional free jewelry for the hostess!

As for the value of the jewelry, it is most definitely not cheap! Cared for properly, following Premiers’ recommendations, the jewelry is every bit as durable as any other jewelry. Some of the pieces are actually excellent values, especially those that contain real stones. And, Premier stands by the jewelry for life! I would defy you to take a puchase from Target, JC Penney or any other large department store after 60 days and attempt to return a damaged piece, even with a receipt! Premier typically repairs or replaces pieces - no questions asked, by the way - regardless of the problem. Try finding service like this anywhere else!

Finally, I must address product markup, because it’s obvious you know very little about business, product manufacturing or marketing.

I don’t know exactly what Premiers’ markup is and quite frankly, it’s irrelevant. But let’s assume it is 80%. After a jeweller takes her 50%, that leaves 30%. Premier maintains a 175,000 sq/ft office and warehouse facility and has close to 250 dedicated employees, each of whom, from the lowest warehouse guy to Andy himself, earns a salary. Add in the capital costs of running a business, (building, computers, desks, chairs, file cabinets, etc), plus the daily costs, (electricity, water, paper, pens, clips, file filders, etc), Corporate taxes, Employee benefits and all the other sundry details involved in keeping a modern company running and now, we’re probably down to maybe 5% leftover. Premier REGULARLY, donates money for Christian Ministries worldwide!

And finally, what’s wrong with profit? Corporate profits are good. They’re reinvested in new business which creates new jobs, new opportunities and more profits. Business feeds off itself and grows. This is not a bad thing, despite what you might think.

And as far as Andy goes, I hope he does get his share. He and Joan took the initial risk 25 years ago to start Premier. Premier has provided th opportunity for thousands of people to better themselves by providing a fairly priced product that people want to buy. Why shouldn’t Andy and Joan reap the rewards from their risk?

If you’re bitter because Premier wasn’t the “Get Rich Quick” scheme you thought it was going to be, fine. This is a business, and you have to go out and make it grow. You can’t sit on your backside and wait for the business to come to you, because if you do, you’ll fail. The jewelers who are are successful, worked very hard to get that way. They followed the examples of other successful jewelers, who also worked hards, and because they were the pioneers, made mistakes. Anyone who has the desire, the drive and is willing to work hard, came become successful at this business.

And for the record, my wife is a Premier Jeweler. She’s in her 4th month and she is currently earning about 2/3’s her previous salary. I thank God she’s doing this too, because shortly after starting this venture, she was layed off her “real” job. And you know what, she’s never going back to that job, or any like it, ever again. And let me tell you, she works hard! Despite this, she’s happier than I can ever remember!

    Just MY thoughts, Jan!

    Jessica-

Keep in mind that this is a business. You need to go out and find the business. Hostess shows are not hard, but they’re not easy either. You will need to work at this, but it can and will pay off if you follow a few simple suggestions.

    1. Talk to your sponser.
    2. Advertise to ALL of your aquaintences, that you’re a Premier Jeweler. This includes friends, family, people at work, at church, at your kid’s school and sports activities, at parties, at clubs, restaraunts, your nail salon, your hair salon, at the grocery store, at the department store. In a word, advertise Premier wherever you go!
    3. Talk to your sponser.
    4. Wear your jewelry everywhere. These are not you samples, this is your jewelry! Show it off!
    5. Talk to you sponser.
    6. Attend ALL offered training sessions. Premier has developed a program with steps that, if followed, will help you become successful. Follow them. Build on them. But don’t try to change them! The Premier way is the best way. There are hundreds of jewelers who are making a full time living with Premier and every one of them followed the Premier steps to success!
    7. Be yourself and be natural! Talking in front of strangers can be hard, so proctice in front of the mirror, your husband/boyfriend/significant other. Try practicing in front of the dog. My wife does and they pay very close attention to her. But whatever you do, BE YOURSELF!
    8. Talk to your sponser.
    9. Get on Premier’s website and login as a jeweler. Premier has loads of of online training avaiable for their jewelers. Listen to the training and incorporate it into your presentation.
    10. And finally,

  98. Courtney

I went to my first Premier Show over the weekend and I think it is the biggest rip off I have ever seen!! The jewelry is gaudy and no better quality than you would find at Target! $50 for a necklace then $30 for the huge pendant to wear with it…oh and another $35 for the huge gaudy fake diamond earrings. Granted every woman is entitled to her own style but I think most of the jewelry is just too much! I am a Christian myself and I don’t understand how a Christian based company can feel that selling this overpriced jewelry is the right thing to do. I am happy for those who have been able to support their family this way but I can’t help but feel bad for those woman who have paid the $400 start-up fee and then had to deal with not being able to book parties or sell the jewelry because its overpriced and cheap in quality. I think there are a lot of other home-based businesses that are actually worthy of my money. I will not be attending another party.

    Hi Jan,

Yes, the question to what the $400 covers was covered on November 5th by Jon he did a very detailed outline on what this covers. It was also responded to on November 6th by nancy. Mark on Sept 7th described what the $750 was for. Maybe if we would read a little bit before posting we could find the answers we are looking for.

Jessica, if you would like to discuss different ways of promoting your business I really encourage you to call someone in your upline or even calling the home office. The home office is always there to help anyone and in anyway but they can only give you suggestions on what is working for other jewelers. As with any outside sales company you have to work your business for your business to work for you. I guess the best way to look at that is like the man who prayed that God would rescue him from a flood. A boat came by with a couple in it and asked if he needed to get out. He replied no my God will rescue me, so the boat left. An hour later the man was still praying that God would rescue him because he was forced to the top of his house. A rescue helicopter came by and told the man he had to get out now if he was going to make it. The man replied no way I’m waiting on my God to rescue me. So the helicopter left. Long story short the man drowned. As he entered the gates of heaven he asked Why didn’t God rescue me. Paul told him God tried to rescue him twice but the he refused to do his part. Point: You have to take action. Are you attending any of the monthly trainings that are available to you? There are tons of different avenues to take besides just home shows. Sorry you are having such a tough time. If you are just starting out yes it is very hard to get your name and reputation out there that is with any business though. I have worked for multiple outside companies and honestly this is the best one I have ever worked for. I was a legal secretary before I came to premier and If I could turn back time I would definately choose Premier again.

    Dear Nancy,
I just started selling Premier Designs jewelry and i love it. The fee is definitely worth it. I have been in this business for a month and have already booked 13 shows. If you have any questions or would like to discuss any of this with me, my email is naomipdj@yahoo.com.

    Hi,
I have been trying to get my Premier business off and running for almost a year now. I am very discouraged because I can’t seem to get bookings. I don’t want my friends & family to feel bugged or obligated - I can’t make a living off them, you know? I need to get outside of my circle & can’t seem to do it. I have great sales at my shows - almost all are $600 or more, but no bookings. I have tried different booking activities, but no luck.
Any tips? I don’t want to become that friend that everyone tries to avoid, so no advice to ask friends to have a show. If my friends want to have a show or to order something, they will let me know.
I love Premier, but am getting discouraged. Also, it sure seems like I have sent back A LOT of jewelry, I have another necklace of my own to send back. I think sometimes that makes it difficult for me to really be euthastic about it, I mean, it reflects on me when the item breaks or is discolored, etc. Even my husband is getting a little leery of it. I have probably spent close to $50 sending items back - just the postage. Plus, lately they have taken a very long time & some of my customers have wanted their money back, then I am stuck with an item.
    Any suggestions??

  103. Wendy

Wow! I’ve just read through most of the posts on this site. (I just happened to find it tonight.) Let me say first that I am surprised by the complete range of emotions from one post to the next. Total joy and excitement, trepidation, anger, etc.

I am glad someone finally answered the start-up fee question! What Jon wrote IS directly from the opportunity brochure.

About returns: I think the statistic for most jewelers is about 8-9% of the pieces sold will need to be returned on average. Yes, some things at retail stores are just as nice, and sometimes cheaper. But tell me which one would let your return ANY piece 3 or 4 years (or more) after purchasing it with NO receipt for a brand new piece/store credit for a missing stone or worn finish–all for only $5.00 + tax? There is not one- ANYWHERE. This is exactly what I just did with three pieces, one of which was a pair of earrings I received in the President’s (start-up) package almost 5 years ago!

I am a Premier jeweler. About the online catalog comment… Yes, I will admit that it would be more convenient at times to be able to view a catalog online. The reason you cannot at this time is that Premier really encourages their jewelers to focus on connecting with people and purchasing online is just not conducive to that. I wouldn’t be surprised, though, if the catalog might not be available to just view (not order) online someday soon.

It would seem that with a 50% profit to be made by the jeweler and a huge hostess plan (30%, plus $100 bonus, plus half-price items!)that the jewelry must be “cheap.” Very few of the pieces I have (or have seen) look or feel “cheap.” No, they must not cost much to make, but 95% of the pieces I have or have had in 5 years still look great, even those that I wear regularly. This is “high-fashion” jewelry (a step up from costume, but not fine jewelry). It should not be slept in, or worn while bathing, swimming, etc. Even still, there has to be something said for guaranteeing every piece of jewelry. Also, Premier retires over 100 pieces every summer. These are any pieces that are out-dated or not selling well, but especially any pieces that are not holding up to Premier’s quality standards. Plainly said, if it is “cheap” and lots break, Premier will not carry it anymore!

To Carolyn who’s just starting (or anyone else), even with my “worst” shows I still averaged AT LEAST $20/hour. (Maybe an average of $150-$250 per show?) I have met great (an a few average;) ladies- many of whom I would call friends. The biblical principles usually attract women of great character. If your “mom” or sponsor isn’t helpful, try others in your up/downline. To find jewelers in your area, call Premier at 1-800-899-0092 (never an automated system!!) or visit the website. I am outside of Houston and while I do this VERY parttime, I’d be glad to help. premierwendy@yahoo.com

  104. ceecee

jan: yes, the $400 start up fee question was answered by jon on nov 5.

i have been to several PD parties and i LOVE the jewelry! so, maybe the quality is comparable to target jewelry, but if your target jewelry breaks, you can’t return it for a replacement or repair.

  105. ceecee

and to respond to kahni’s post from several months back…that is just a woman that used poor judgment…it has nothing to do with PD. i don’t see how you can associate the two.

    just my opinion, though.

  106. Dee

I just happened into this website, and I wanted to let you ladies know that Premier is the best company in the whole world! I have been a rep with Premier for almost 18 years now! The $395 fee covers many good things including free shipping for a year! It is kind of like all the overhead taken care of for you if you had your own business doing anything else. Of course, if you had a gift shop, you would be paying a light bill, insurance, filing state sales tax, a 1-800 number, a website, etc… However, with Premier this fee covers all of that including some wonderful training aids like dvds, catalogs, and many other goodies they send. Plus, this fee is a tax deductible fee! Premier has been a wonderful business for me over the years, and I am very thankful for Joan and Andy Horner and their servant hearts to help so many people!

  107. Jessica

Hey Its me again just a little reporting back. First off My start up fee was $1200 that included the jewelry. I am happy to say my training show retailed about $1,600 I believe and My first show is somwhere near the same. So I have almost made my $1200 back in 2 home shows and I am very excited about it. I started to get really into it after the successful shows. I have one show coming up soon which is another friend of mine. But getting bookings is still hard. I do find that the jewelry sells itself. So thankfully I should be okay without any loss even if i choose to back out now I am good. Thanks everyone who commented or e-mailed me personally.

I just happened upon this site and have a question that I hope someone can answer for me. I recently had a home show and am very pleased with the jewelry. As a matter of fact, I and some of my friends (who live out of town) would like to order more! Since I just had the home show, I called my consultant to let her know I’d like to do a “catalog” show. She informed me that the hostess benefit would only be 20%, not 30%. This is not necessarily a deal-breaker, but I am confused as to why this would be the case. I’d appreciate any insight you can provide me on this rule. Additionally, can you advise me if there any December hostess specials? Thanks so much.

  112. Christa

Jersey Girl, I haven’t heard of this rule before…but I’m new to Premier…I think that in January, hostesses are going to earn 50% in free jewelry for shows totaling more than $500…ask your distributor about it. :)

  113. Nicole Skurjunis

The heart and soul of Premier is serving our customers. We encourage us to talk with you and build relationships. Since that is the case, naturally, we would offer more of an incentive if you book a home show. As for December hostess specials, it begins the 20th and run through January. We are offering the fifty percent hostess benefits again. Also, where in Jersey are you from as well as your friends. I am a Jersey girl who now lives in Pa. I love Jersey people, sorry. If you have any further questions please contact me at nskurjunis@hotmail.com Or you may call me at 570.242.4571. I am always here to help!!

    hello,

i have had a few parties and just started selling this as well. as a buyer i just loved the pieces and love to make extra money so what better way to earn money then to sell what you love. the company has great values your family and god comes first. i just love it. i love getting out and meeting new people and telling everyone all about it and help them pick out pieces that they will love.

  115. Angela Durden

I had never heard of Premier Jewelry until 2 months ago when a co-worked hosted a party. I loved the jewelry and the hugh selection. However, we still have not received the jewelry. First it was sent to the wrong address, then it was stolen from someones doorstep, then it was in the mail, it seems to be excuse after excuse. Is it normal to take this long? I have only been getting information from the hostess. What can we do?

Is anyone based here in Georgia or maybe Warner Robins GA?If you are please send me an email at scwhisenant@hotmail.com

  117. Lisa

Hi Ladies! I wanted to comment about Premier Designs. I started off as a hostess and hosted a show every year for about 7 years. Every year I earned anywhere from $500-600 in free jewelry.

Over the past 7 years, I have sold candles, Christmas items, cooking products and cosmetics for direct sales companies. My biggest challenge was getting people to book shows. So, when I did finally give up, the thought of working for yet ANOTHER direct sales company made me want to run for cover and I am sure my family and friends would change their phone numbers if they knew I was considering another opportunity. Before I signed up, I did my homework and decided to give it a try. If at first you don’t succeed . . .

I had a few bumps in the road along the way. Some of my hostesses canceled at the last minute and I had a show where no one showed up. However, since the last week in October, I have had 6 shows and my total retail sales for those 6 shows is $3,975. I earned 50% gross profit on that. But the best part of this experience so far has been to see the look on my hostesses face when I tell them how much free jewelry they earned! They get so excited and I love it.

For the first time in my life, I am actually at PROFIT level with a direct sales company and I am not having to beg my family and friends to hold shows for me. I have 8 bookings on my calendar right now and 6 of those are with people I never met until they came to one of my shows. I feel very positive and confident that I am going to be able to continue to keep this going. And I am so excited that I don’t have to purchase inventory!

Yes, I have had some returns. I have even had to return some items from my starter kit. However, this doesn’t bother me in the least. Anytime you are in a retail business, you are going to have to deal with returns. I think it’s wonderful that I can return something even if it is over 5 years old. Every retailer has to deal with returns on a massive level. They all take it in stride as a part of doing business. I welcome returns and will go out of my way to help someone get the right piece for themselves. It’s part of being in retail. And it makes me feel secure knowing that Premier Designs stands behind their jewelry and don’t give the customers grief if there is a problem with a piece.

Also, a side note . . . did you know that if a customer receives a piece of jewelry that is broken, you can call Premier and they will immediately send a replacement item out. You have 60 days to return the broken piece. They are very conscientious about not wanting any customer or jeweler to receive broken merchandise and they will go to great lengths to take care of that customer and jeweler.

Anyway, if you do decide to sell Premier Designs, keep something in mind. Your hostesses are not doing you a favor by having a show. They are your business partners and they are receiving great rewards for opening their homes to you and inviting their friends to come by and check out your great jewelry. My hostess on Sunday received $616.00 in FREE jewelry. She was squealing for 5 minutes and doing the happy dance. And that makes me FEEL GREAT!

My sponsor in this business suggested that I rebook my hostesses for 6 months down the road as part of their 3 bookings to help them get the additional $25.00 certificate. It’s a great idea and it works. So far, every hostess was so excited about all of the free jewelry she got that they each rebooked a show for the summer
