BINSI Birthing Wear gives New Meaning to the Impractical Hospital Gown

Maternity wear has come a long way since those outlandish tent dresses and ugly elastic pants. Everything from maternity lingerie to eveningwear now comes in designer labels. And the newest garment for pregnant women is the birthing line of clothing. Comfortable tops and practical skirts are made specifically for that time during intense labor.

Typically the pregnant lady enters the hospital and the attendants are quick to clothe her in a hospital gown with which is fine on the front but the back is blowing in the wind, baring all. As if giving birth was not enough of a trial, now the woman must show her bottom to the world as she awaits her new baby. binsi bambooFrustrated with the indiscreet circumstances, Carrie Grimditch decided to make herself a birthing skirt. She then made skirts for other pregnant women and subsequently, Carrie and Kimberly Taylor formed BINSI Inc, the labor and birth apparel company.

Such a simple notion but when you see the pregnant models wearing the cropped tops, tankinis and skirts, they actually look quite fashionable. Women are able to move around the hospital while waiting for the birth of their babies and at the same time doctors and nurses can easily monitor their condition without the intrusion of regular clothing. The newest pieces in the collection are the BINSI® Bamboo made from bamboo and organic cotton with a hint of spandex to hold its cute shape. A comfortable style with below belly fit, breathable fabric with wicking properties, and sexy side slits for optimal movement, coupled with the matching tankini, you would never know the woman was about to give birth.

It is hard to believe that expectant mothers can look fashionable up to and during labor!
