Mustard? The Hottest Shade this Fall!
In addition to hues of purple, mustard is the hottest color this fall. Many fashion magazines are daring women to try mustard colored clothing even though the brownish yellow may not be one of their best color choices. But as difficult as it is for most women to wear mustard, splashes of the golden color are being spotted all around. Mustard tights, mustard shawls and mustard scarves are customary accessories for the Fall 2008 season.
And do not be surprised to find that mustard complements many color groups. It looks great with black, brown, green and cream. In fact, it might be easier to wear mustard than you think. Mustard may be the kick that many wardrobes need. An otherwise drab outfit becomes pure pizzazz with its lively mustard tones. Remember that mustard comes in various hues and can be worn in ways that flatter the person.
For example, women with light colored face tones, that appear washed out with certain colors such as mustard, would wear the color away from the face. A skirt in mustard with a darker grounded color on the top would be appropriate. In addition, accessories such as handbags, socks and belts add to the outfit without taking away from the face’s beauty.
One designer that has given mustard its due in his Fall 2008 collection is Michael Kors. Several pieces in this luxury collection utilize the color to make grand statements. A gorgeous Italian silk “Magnolia Twirl Dress” in saffron army floral print with banded waist and jewel neckline is absolutely stunning while the amber melange “Varsity Cashmere Sweater” with three quarter sleeves and v-neckline looks beautiful with a dark brown skirt or pants.
Mustard is a vibrant color, which boosts an outfit and uplifts the mood.
