Lia Sophia Fashion Jewelry

I read this at Bryan’s Rants:
“Kelli would like to advertise Lia Sophia. For all the woman readers out there they have great jewelery for an even better price. Kelli sells Lia Sophia and stands by their product. Although she doesn’t have a site of her own she would like to advertise their great jewelery. Men, keep your eyes peeled! Rumor has it Lia Sophia will be introducing a men’s line in the future.”
All I can say is: she’s right. Lia Sophia has some great jewellery and hosting a lia sophia Show is so much fun!
Looking for cheap but special-looking jewels? Lia Sophia is a good choice!
Engagement Rings Ordering jewelry online has never been safer. Stop by Novori.com and check out our large selection of diamond engagement rings and other jewelry.
Thanks for the great plug. Everyone is wearing the jewelry now. I can’t wait for the guys line to come out. Are you a seller too?
12/27/06 at 11:38 pmI’m the Kelli in that message. :) Just out of curiosity, do you sell lia sophia? Or have you been a hostess? It is great jewelry! (and so much fun to sell)
12/28/06 at 6:54 amNop, I’m not a seller! The thing is, I have been to some parties and it was very very nice :D
12/29/06 at 2:35 pmI just read this:
http://kellijeanne.blogspot.com/2006/12/thing-about-promises.html
Sorry to hear the Kelli. I hope they adjust their focus soon, as client-orientation is the only way to go in their way of doing business…
12/29/06 at 2:37 pmNot to step on anyones toes…. but I will never deal with Lia Sophia again. I returned some merchandise months ago and amazingly it has never been received by them. They state that just because I used their return label that that was no guarantee they would get it… What type of scam are they running. And I ‘ve been told by the postal service, this is far from the first time this has happened with the company! Ladies, be prepared to deal with many unhappy customers when Ila Sophia screws them too! And their customer service people are beyond snotty!
3/14/07 at 11:38 pmJudy, I’m hearing more and more negative stories about Lia Sophia. Seems like the hype they ‘deserved’ at the start isn’t really keeping up to the promises….
Any ideas for people who run into problems like that? Have you managed to work something out?
3/15/07 at 4:38 amJudy, did you send it certified mail? The company gives you a $5.00 gift cert anytime you return something to reimburse you sort of. I have returned items three different times, and i admit it took awhile, but everything went smoothly. Just because you had one bad experience, don’t give up on such nice jewelery! and bad mouth the company. Otherwise, if you don’t like the jewelery, don’t buy it and let others have a smile and be fashionable.
3/21/07 at 4:27 amI have been buying things with lia sophia for 3 years, and i have returned many things that I did not like when i saw them, or just wanted something different, and I have not once ran into any problems with them. Actually I like there jewelry so much and have had such great experiences with them that I have decided to sell it as well.
3/21/07 at 6:37 pmHi everyone!
I would like to invite you to talk with us about the Lia Sophia jewelry on The TLP-forums.
The link to the topic is right here:
http://forum.the-lingerie-post.com/tlp-expand570.html
Hope to see you there!
3/21/07 at 8:29 pmI am soooo sorry you have had a problem with your return.
Must be that your Adviosr did not, or perhaps you forgot.
I always tell my customres
KEEP YOUR RECEIPT, it will be needed in case of a return at any time. You must have proof that you purchased it from an Advisor..not on ebay or garage sale etc.
If you need to returnan item, send it with a sign for receipt…that way you know they got it..and lia will reimbure you the postage with a $5 gift card.
lia sophia is high quality fashion jewerly. It is not cheap and it is not jewlery store high end.
lia sophia offers an UNConditional Lifetime Guarantee, you don’t get that at the jewelry store or the dept store.
I love being associated with lia sophia. It is a young, growing company. I am making fantastic money, take care of my customers, and love the generosity lia sophia shows to Hostesses…our backbone!!
I hope that helps alleviate some confusion!

[...] Lia Sophia Fashion Jewelry [...]
3/25/07 at 1:01 amHello everyone,
I loved the lia sophia jewelry so much that I decided to sell it. I have been doing it since January. I haven’t had any complaints from my customers.
4/1/07 at 3:19 amMy wife started selling it part-time about a year ago and she just left her high-paying government job to do it full-time (actually less than 40 hours!). I’m finding that it’s easy to be a supportive husband about this. In fact, her team can get a new Advisor to a six-figure income in only three years. Lucky me. Go, lia sophia!
4/1/07 at 3:48 amMy wife went to a party a few months ago, came home and asked if she could become a rep and sell the jewelry. I said go for it!!!. Think about it, She gets great jewelry and we get to write if off as an expense. FREE JEWELRY for life as I see it. In the last few months she has also made several thousand in income. Great company, but remember all companies will have their issues to deal with, so don’t call a company a scam just because you had one bad experience. Go, Lia Sophia…..
4/6/07 at 6:25 amMatt and Kent Your wives are lucky women. It makes our dedication to growing our businesses with new team members so much easier when our hubby’s are on board!

4/11/07 at 6:02 pmJudy, down there talking so horribly about lia sophia has no clue what company she is slamming. I am sorry she must be mistaking but lia sophia does not supply a return label. They don’t even ship direct to you. Your hostess or advisor delivers your items and you are responsible for writing down the correct return address on any labels if necessary. I am sorry a typo may have been made by your courier and you may have not been supplied with a tracking number but personally if I were returning any merchandise these would certainly be specifics I would assume responsibility. lia sophia cannot remain in business and render the lifetime guarantee and affordability if they bowed to such foolish human error. ;)
4/20/07 at 8:05 amI started to sell lia sophia about a year ago–for extra cash–and I love it for all the reasons stated above. I hope to be able to quit my “real job” in a year and just do this so I can stay home with my kids. As for returns–they do take longer as they are opened by hand, inspected and then new product is sent out. If you did not get your exchange or return back you should contact your hostess so she can contact the advisor. On one occasion I had a customer and her exchange was entered into the system incorrectly. I called, they corrected it and the person got their exchange within a week. I have to say I never thought I would do direct sales but I love it.
4/24/07 at 7:34 pmI have been selling Lia Sophia since February 2007. I love the jewelry and have yet to encounter any customer related problems. If someone doesn’t like their product and does not wish to go the route of sending it back to the company, I just buy it back from them and keep it for stock and or door prizes. The items I won’t do this with are earrings, because of the hygiene issue. However, I have only encountered this opportunity one time. EVERYONE I come into contact with loves the jewelry and wears it everyday! My husband is extremely supportive and my manager, Lisa Irwin rocks. I would encourage ANYONE to join the Lia Sophia family and reap the many multi-faceted benefits!
5/8/07 at 1:05 amI have been selling lia sophia since July of 2005.
5/8/07 at 2:21 pmI am 2 months away from quitting my full time job and have only been recruiting since August of 2006. I have a team of 32 and am not looking back! This company has given me the true ability to DREAM again! Being a single parent working full time and doing it alone took some of that ability away - but I’ve got it and I will do everything I can to KEEP IT! I have not had any issues with any of my customers’ jewelry not being received by lia sophia. The exchange process is running about a 3 week lag, but other than that no issues in over 18 months with this company. Of course there will be some bumps along the way, but all in all, this company is customer focused and very attentive to their Advisors. THANK YOU LIA SOPHIA! You’ve made my life so much easier!
Actually…. Lia Sophia does supply a return label in every box that they ship. Unfortunatley.. there have been some problems recently with lia sophia getting packages (with returned jewelry) and they are empty!! Somewhere in transit Jewelry is being taken and no suprise as our jewelry is beautiful! I always make sure to let my customers know to please ship with a confirmation which is only 50 cents! Not to much to pay to ensure your investment is taken care of. I have never had a problem with a return.
Lia Sophia will also ship direct if the order is placed under a direct sale.
Judy.. I am sorry you experienced what you did with our company. But please know that your situation and experience is not typical. Did you touch base with the advisor you purchased from and give her a chance to try and help you resolve your situation? Often times you will find an advisor who Is willing to do what she can to help make things right. I don’t blame you for feeling upset and frustrated and not wanting to ever do business with lia sophia again.. but I hope you will just remember.. that what happened to you is not typical and maybe down the road you’ll give us another chance.
6/11/07 at 8:44 pmK.H. wer5bsn1k@hotmail.com
This is my take on Lia Sophia. I started with Lia Sophia a few months ago and I have not had good experiences. It’s not that easy to get people to host a party and with the special of buy two at regualar price and the third one is half off, people soemtimes don’t want to spend $100 dollars on jewerly. Now the 200 Fall book is coming out and there July special is everything half off, not too crazy about this when everyone else bought at regular price.
7/3/07 at 3:09 pmA lot of conversation here! It’s nice to see the dialog! A couple of points that might help.
Back in December, Lia Sophia expanded their facilities and customer service center, which meant tons of new employees - many of which were very green to the company philosophies. I started as a new recruit in January, but due to leader issues, didn’t really get started until April. Two pieces from my starter show in Janurary were damaged within a week, then I lost an earring. At this time, returns were 2 MONTHS behind, what with the December shutdown and changeover. Then, I was calling to check on the return, I was told that they got the pieces, but no receipt. THEN I discovered the whole package was sitting on a new CS Rep’s desk. I asked for the manager. She worked with me very nicely. Eventually it all worked out. Granted, I had to call every other day for a couple of weeks, but I got all the pieces replaced and got a gift certificate to boot! Since then, I’ve had a couple more returns that went VERY smoothly.
All the returns are hand processed and inspected. They want to make sure you’re returning the right piece and that they exchange it for what you need. Lia Sophia is working hard to exceed customer expectations, but early this year was a major growing pain for the company. Since last year, the active advisor base has doubled and they anticipate doing that again this year. That’s great for those of us in the business, but when the company wasn’t prepared for the exponential growth, it kind of bit them in the behind.
Lesson learned. Sometimes, you’ve got to be persistent, but persistence DEFINITELY paid for me. Realize that sometimes you’re on the phone with the new person, and just ask for someone else to help you. I know it’s an extra step, but if it gets you what you wanted ( a return and a polite bit of help), I think it’s worth it for your sanity at least.
Janet, try looking at your business from a different angle: What if there were no guest specials and everyone had to buy at full price? If you’re telling your hostesses and guest what an amazing deal the buy one get two half price is in July, you’ll have people that will book. Also, I do a “sneak peek” of the new catalog at my month end parties and let them order the new items, but close the show when the new catalog becomes available. If it’s a really big show, sometimes I order the current catalog items first, then submit a second show for the new catalog items. Either way, my hostess will get all her credits, and I can sell more products. I’ve found in my 10 years in Direct Sales that it’s more about the attitude you present when asking for the sale/booking. If you act confident and excited about the offer, most people will trust that you’re right and will feel the same way. Good luck!
7/16/07 at 4:42 pmHoping everyone out there continues to have positive transactions with lia sophia! Our new distribution center is in full swing and shipping orders faster than ever! Customer service is continually expanding and the returns department has been streamlined! A well oiled machine is in place!
8/12/07 at 11:08 amI just signed on to lia sophia as an advisor, and my first show all by my lonesome is on August 26th…wish me luck!!!! I have enjoyed some of your tips and tricks, as well as wonderful things about the company!!! Keep them coming!
8/15/07 at 9:34 pmI just received my order, and it’s great…but one of the pieces…I just can’t remembemr ever seeing it, much less ordering it.
Is there a summer catalog available to look at, so I can see if I recorded a number incorrectly?
8/16/07 at 1:04 amThis is terrific dialog! I have been with lia for 2 years (in Oct)..made manager in August of my first year….teach full-time too…looking to ‘retire’ early…LOVING lia…got through the entire thing last December unscathed…..to Janet Woo….did you sign on having had 5 shows already booked when you signed your Advisor Agreement…that would have gotten you off to an incredible start…there are few people who don’t want to book shows…are you wearing the jewelry everywhere and talking about the great deals? The ’sale’ you spoke of only happens (usually) in July and January…and, if you started in July, people should have been scrambling to book with you because of the awesome sale…and with the new August catalog, that sale is terrific as well…did someone help you along the way? There are plenty of us here that can give you advice/suggestions….don’t give up yet, you’ve just started…let us help you!
VICKI…you’ll do GREAT…good luck on August 26th….
8/21/07 at 6:39 amHappy to report my first Lia Show was awesome!!!! $1600 in sales …yeah …i made my Excellent Beginnings because I have my 5 booked and confirmed….. YIPPPPEEEEE!!!!!
8/29/07 at 7:32 pmCan anyone tell me where lia sophia jewelry is made. I have searched their website and others and cannot find this info.
9/7/07 at 9:55 pmI just wanted to put my own 2 cents in…first time to do this…
9/18/07 at 10:54 pmTo Vicki–congratulations, that is super!
I went to my first Lia party in Aug. 2006 and LOVED it, so I booked a party of my own. I had another one in the Spring of 2007 and decided I HAD to sell it. Prior to Aug 2006 I NEVER EVER wore jewelry except a watch and wedding ring. Now, my coworkers and friends just can’t believe what an ‘addict’ I am about Lia jewelry. I started off strong w/ the excellent beginnings with the 5 shows and it took off and I’m still in shock. I officially started in April and just signed up my 3rd advisor this week. I work full time and in July had 9 shows on top of that. My calendar is jam packed full! This is an incredible opportunity and the money just keeps coming in. My husband was a little skeptical at first b/c I had sold Mary Kay before and bought a LOT of inventory, then couldn’t get any parties going. I’m not a ’sales’ kind of person and any old friends I have are totally surprised that I do this, but it is so easy and so fun…it’s not like work. My first show was $1400 and all I did was write up invoices like a mad woman…I’ve had a few ‘bad’ shows too…but it all adds to the experience. My goal is to cut back to 30 hrs/week at my ‘real’ job next year and be home to meet my boys after school! I totally love Lia Sophia and can’t say enough wonderful things about it….now my husband even sits down and helps me fill out postcards, etc…he is so proud of me…and I’m proud of me too! I have an awesome upline–Jennifer Leingang–she rocks and would do anything to help you succeed…and so that’s what I’m doing for my recruits as well!
Hello ladies! I just signed my advisor agreement and my first show is on October 19. I’m very excited to start selling lia sophia jewelry and I must say, I never thought I would be doing direct sales either. Hearing all the success stories and the positive experiences is really motivating. All businesses have a bump in the road somewhere and as long as the advisors are there to support and help (as best they can) any given situation, I think the customers will always be more than willing to overlook the “bumps.” I can’t wait to earn the title of advisor and although I will be doing this more for extra money because I have a full time job, even the idea of being able to retire a 40 hr work week schedule is quite tempting and worth the effort. I would like to see more comments and tips on how you ladies who have been in this game for awhile, keep your business going and have gained so much success.
9/23/07 at 4:37 amI just have to say, that judy up above is right in being upset of being screwed over. Second lia sophia has some nice jewelry when it comes all together and not damage. Seems you have to send it back often to get undamaged pieces or both earings. Not much fun, too much of a hassels to buy great jewelry. If it was so great, where is the online catalog to look through. I can’t seem to find one. Why have advisors sell the jewelry and pay them so much, must mean the customer is getting ripped off on the price. The jewelry is cheap and sold for and extremely high price by advisors because selling it in a retail store, would lose money…why, cause it’s cheap and no one would by without these great deals!!! :)
9/24/07 at 7:52 amhello, I have really enjoyed reading these blogs and now its my turn….A few weeks ago my sister had a lia sophia party. We all had such a great time. I just had a baby and am looking for a job where I can stay home. So I decided to sell it. My first starter party is THIS SUNDAY and I am already worried. My sister got her order and one item was missing, one came broken and one was wrong. Then in front of two potential people who would have a party for me (to get my first 5) my cousin said she went to put on her lia bracelet for the first time and it fell on the rug and broke. Now I don’t know if I will get the required amount in sales at my starter party or if I will get my first 5 shows. I do have 2 shows booked already (people who were not at my sisters show)but I still need two more. What if i don’t get the shows within a month of my starter show? When do I sign the advisor agrement?
9/24/07 at 3:12 pmI’m thinking about becoming an advisor but not sure if I can do it year round as I work a very exhausting 7 month schedule at my “full time” job. I would love to sell this jewelry I am a HUGE fan and believer in it. I have gone to one party, booked one of my own, loved them both and ordered a ton of jewelry each time! The pieces I bought are truly quality jewelry - I have ordered off QvC before and haven’t been as happy because I can’t see the stuff in person til I get it home. At the LS parties, you can SEE and touch the jewelry before you buy (most of it). I really hope I can become an adivosr, I have contacted my LS advisor who did my show, to see what she thinks about my future in Lia Sophia! My husband is kind of behind me on this too, after he seen the jewelry and how much I got for the price!
9/27/07 at 9:06 amMy wife has been invited to a show this weekend and the whole thing looks like a scam to me. Multi level marketing pyramid scheme type stuff….
I hope she doesn’t spend a lot of money. How the heck do you find out how much anything costs??
9/27/07 at 11:23 pmThinking about being an advisor…My sponser did not mention anything about 5 bookings…I was told 3 booking total of $1500..Im not getting the warm fuzzies here!
10/1/07 at 4:42 pmKerry~
I think every region and manager has their own expectations. I only need $1500 in sales within my first 3 shows but they require a list of 5-6 shows to get the business started and to try and ensure some future bookings for the new starts. Your business is dependent on booking shows and the more parties you have booked when you start will provide you the means and opportunity to book more shows without having to independently market yourself for a little while. After that, you can schedule as little or as many shows as you want. I am taking the plunge. My start show is in October. Ask a lot of questions..I did. The girl who recruited me just started in April 2007 and she has been pretty successful so far which has put me at ease. I would talk to your sponser about her expectations.

10/2/07 at 5:44 amFor those of you looking for pricing and catalogs - you have to go to an advisors website - you can use mine, http://www.liasophia.com/vmoore.
10/3/07 at 6:41 pmCustomers leave my checkout feeling comfortable with the fact that they got a great deal (some even felt as if they had just stole when i told them to pick out something up to $25 for only $1 more using the customer save plan.. When taking advantage of the monthly specials and the customer save plan …who cannot help but feel that way? Not too mention when you book a show, we have a very generous hostess plan, offering the hostesses to be ’stacked with gifts of jewelry!!!”. How or what the profit made is by …whether it be an advisor, manager or Tory Kiam himself should not be an issue..99.9% of the customers are happy with the prices they pay for the jewelry and guarantee they receive (in my experience anyway). There is something to be said for customer satisfaction.
If anyone should have any questions - feel free to hollar!
Congrats to all of you with starter shows - you are going to rock!
(Chicagoland Area)
I see there are ladies looking to get in the ‘jewelry’ direct selling market. I did my homework and interviewed reps from various companies. (right in my home) You need to do the comparison and pay attention to the details. It took me extra time but it certainly paid off. It isn’t just about the percentage of pay - look into the hostess program as well. Your hostess program is what will keep your business alive and running. And of course, a quality product - check to see where the jewelry is manufactured. Also, will your customer have to deal with the BIG company for an exchange or go directly to her representative who handles the entire process? Hopefully it is the second! Remember, service is everything……”your happy customer will share her experience with three friends… your unhappy customer will share with 12 friends”.
Be sure to ask lots of questions ladies!!
If anyone needs help in this area please email me and I’ll be glad to assist.
Have a Blessed Day…

10/10/07 at 3:59 amJust to share!
I had my first show on my own on Saturday. I had $935 in sales and earned $280.50 profit for 4 hours of work! I had my starter show on Friday where I had over $650 in sales which qualified me as an advisor. My manager receives the profit from my start show but I was able to get 2 bookings and 2 people said they are thinking of booking. So I am off to a good start. Very exciting.

10/22/07 at 2:22 amI am a Lia Sophia Advisor in Michigan. You are more than welcomed to go to my website and view the jewelry and prices. I wish some of the consumers on this website were more informed of what great opportunities lia sophia has to offer in addition to their wonderful jewelry. No I am not “brainwashed” by this company. I have been a part of many mlm companies. There is no pressure to sell anything with lia sophia or recruit others. I sell it because I love the jewelry. What amazes me is when I mention to people about the jewelry I hear great reviews and how our jewelry “stands out” compared to everyone elses.
If any of you were not aware, we have an upscale line that is bought by many celebrities as well. No secrets here…There have been many articles written about lia sophia jewelry in many national magazines and we have been featured on news programs as well.
I hope the people out there who have not given lia sophia a try would be willing to at least host one show. You won’t regret it!
10/30/07 at 5:56 amI got my Lia Sophia kit in August..had the starters show at the end of August and it turned out horrible. I only had less than $40 in sales…hardly no one came and some that didn’t ordered but not enough to make the $650 required for the starter show. Those that ordered happen to order the items that I had gotten in the kit so instead of making them wait forever for me to get to $650 in sales from shows that weren’t coming my way, I had to give them the items from my kit and since then I have been getting outside orders here and there but I have to forfeit them from my qualified starter show sales and give them to my recruiter to put in the orders. No that I meet wants to have a show but they will order here and there. I’m having the worst luck but will not give up. I have a vendor show lined up for November 16 and I am going to ask various hair salon owners if I can set up a table and they will be the “hostess” and reap the benefits..maybe then I will get the qualified $650. I wish I had as much luck as some of you! Even though I have not made a dime yet I am NOT going to give up.
11/3/07 at 6:11 amArlene,
11/15/07 at 7:19 amI am sorry that you had a bad starter show. I don’t really understand why you are turning all your orders over to your recruiter. At this point you should be collecting them and turning it in as 1 show. All you need to do is collect $250 in sales to have a qualifing show. One thing that you could do is let everyone you know that you will be turning in a mystery hostess show. For anyone who places an order you will place their name in a drawing & one person will win all the hostess benefits for a great Christmas shopping spree! Good luck at your vendor show on Friday! Make sure you stand in front of your display & greet everyone..have a drawing for an item too. (have them fill out a drawing slip with some questions on it..Look at the “wish list” ?’s to get ideas)
Just like any organization that has different managers with different requirements so goes lia sophia.
There are the CORP. guidelnines and then each GROUP has their own ideas/business requirements.
My personal Unit is run by the lia sophia guidelines and not add ons. I listen to the needs of my potential team mates and then let them know what they would need to do to accomplish those goals. A good start is a lifeline to their business and I show them the options.
I want my team mates to know this is their business. They can be very PT or Career minded. It is truly up to them. I don’t exclude people just because they do not want to be out doing 2 or more shows a week. GOODNESS, some just want to have a little fun money or their schedules allow for only a nite here or there. And awesome for those that want this to be a career like it is for me.
I don’t work another job. I am available to my Nationwide team when they need my help. =)
Our dreams and goals determine what we want out of this awesome company. It’s my dream to help each new team mate be successful and enjoy this fabulous company. The Company offers the most generous Hostess Program around so bookings come naturally. Our commissions and low expenses make us a lucrative business. The Unconditional Lifetime Guarantee, Customer Save Plan and Monthly Bonus Buys along with the Crazy Wonderful Jewerly itself put us over the top!!
Our Unit offers training DVDS, all of our forms on CD so you can personalize and print. No wasted time trying to find “what” you need or reinventing the wheel!
We also include some fun things like displays, mirrors and stickers. And we offer references. We want you to have fun with this business!
You can make what you are worth, with some effort of course! I’d enjoy sharing more….feel free to contact me via my website. http://www.liasophia.com/lynnandreske
There’s never a better time to join than now, we are still very ground floor opportunity with some states having less than 50 advisors. Take care, dream BIG!

11/17/07 at 12:28 amHi Everyone,
Well, I have read all of these responses/rants/reviews, with an open mind…this is what I can tell you about my experience with lia sophia. First, I must tell you that I have taught for 28 years..I am a very happy special education teacher…but, with my husband retiring from teaching, and our son going off to college, I had to find something more…I looked at almost every direct marketing company for almost 2 years…..I was invited to a lia sophia show…couldn’t go..but ordered some jewelry..and I was sold…I gave myself a ‘year’..well, that was 2 years and 25 recruits ago…I made Star Unit manager last week after having only been with the company exactly 2 years….I still teach..and I am the Student Council advisor…
A few things….to “Arlene’ Nov. 3rd…first, your starter show doesn’t have to be $650…it can be a $250 show, if need be…but, you should have been coached (and you should have tried) to get as many outside orders as you could have; just in case your show count of actual guests was low (which it was)…..the $650.00 was only to get whatever was being offered that month to new advisors…which, in November was an extra $100.00 jewelry certificate (for a $600 show)…..
Secondly…lia sophia DOES offer a return postcard..it is in the bottom of every carton….I save every one that I get and offer them to anyone who has to return an item….and…in the 2 years that I have been with lia sophia…there have been maybe 5 people that have returned anything…
Third…last year the company underwent some significant growing pains when they changed their distribution center…those of us that hung in there have seen the postive changes it has made….
Basically, if you are following the lead of your manager/upline…taking suggestions, etc…your business will grow…if you only want to do a few shows a month, or one very 12 weeks to stay active, that is okay too….you are in business for yourself..but never by yourself…there are so many of us out here that have done well…and those that have all have our own ’stories’…but we all learn from mistakes an move on…
I have my M.Ed…I LOVE to teach..but, I could NEVER in a million years earn the money on an hourly basis with teaching that I am with lia sophia….I consider myself very fortunate to have 2 jobs that I absolutely love…
My goal for lia sophia is to retire from teaching earlier than I had originally planned…and, I am on my way…..
Those of you that don’t enjoy it…perhaps lia sophia isn’t for you…there are plenty of incredible direct marketing companies out there…each with their own unique qualities…sometimes it’s just about finding your niche…..but they do all involve work..parties don’t just fall out of the sky….

11/18/07 at 3:19 amJust as a quick disclaimer, I am not the same “Kelli” that started this thread, lol! Two years ago, I had a Lia Sophia party after having attended one. Two weeks ago, I began selling the product. I was so impressed with the fact that the party I held two years ago allowed me to do virtually all of my Christmas shopping for FREE, that this holiday season lead me to think about it from a different angle. Let’s face it, in todays economy, we’re ALL looking for a little extra money to pump the budget up a bit and for me it was a no risk, no brainer! In my first two weeks, I’ve made my goal quotas for the first 5 weeks and have already recruited a new advisor! If you are looking to represent a family owned company with good ethics and a great product to offer, then Lia Sophia is the PERFECT choice. For those of you who’ve had difficulties, all I can suggest is, UTILIZE your upline!! If nothing else call your 1-800-customer service number. I’ve not encountered anyone in this company who wasn’t eager to help but sometimes you do have to ask.
There are no other companies out there that are going to offer you so much for so little as an advisor. As a customer: How many products come with a lifetme replacement guarantee? Some here seem to have had problems with that policy, however, I have to ask: Is it not worth a wait to receive a replacement? I know for my customers I would handle this for them if need be and I am sure most other advisors would do the same if the problems were brought to their attention. You are free to visit my site and see what Lia Sophia has to offer, but no matter whose site you visit DO IT TODAY!! liasophia.com/kelleyferguson
11/24/07 at 4:01 amMy very first purchase and experience with Lia Sophia jewelry was a real disappointment. I purchased two necklaces from Lia Sophia and the first necklace broke the second day I wore it. It just fell off my neck and it wasn’t an easy fix (such as a chain link needing to be closed all the way). I never had a chance with the second necklace; right out of the box the clasp would not stay properly closed and the necklace would not stay put. I would have ignored the first problem; but by the second necklace it was clear the quality of Lia Sophia jewelry was not what I had expected after looking through their high-end, glossy catalog.
1/4/08 at 8:32 pmI lost a lia sophia earring, rendering the set useless. Do any of you Reps out there know if i can i send the other one in and get a replacement? That would be a truly impressive UNconditional guarantee.
1/11/08 at 9:21 pmNaomi, I am a lia sophia advisor and understand your concern regarding the two necklaces. I am sure this was very disappointing to you. Although this was an unfortunate incident, please rest assure that lia sophia does stand behind their product which is why we have a lifetime guarantee. Please return your jewelry immediately to the company and they will replace your jewelry. Also, keep your receipt in a safe place. Remember, you can return the jewelry for as long as you own it and have your receipt. You cannot obtain this value in any department store that I am aware of. Not only can you return it at any time if it is broken, but you can return it even if you don’t like it - five years from now. So, although you had a disappointing experience with your jewelry, the company will stand behind it and replace it for free. Please return your jewelry and give it another chance.
Christina, what is the earring you lost? Many of us have jewelry that is discontinued and can replace it. There is a huge network out there that can help you find your missing piece.
I can be reached at http://www.liasophia.com/denese or denesels@comcast.net

1/27/08 at 7:38 pmLoss or theft is the only thing that is not covered under lia sophia’s warranty. Unfortunatley the loss of an earing falls into that category.
Hi there…I am considering becoming an advisor but the reviews are mixed! I love the jewelry–it’s gorgeous and I love how easy it was to have my party…my advisor didn’t have to do much of anything and I had what I hope will be my starter show with $1000 in sales. I also have two shows booked and one pending…so only two more to go! Thoughts or tips from a seasoned advisor to an aspiring advisor? mngrrrl818@yahoo.com
2/2/08 at 4:56 amHey Rachel! I would love to chat with you about getting started. I had a HORRIBLE start to lia sophia when I started - and now am a divison! I even got to quit my full-time job because I was making way more money - even though I have my Master’s in Marketing! Now my team gets the benefits of all my schooling;-).
Can’t wait to talk - I sent you an email!
2/6/08 at 4:17 amI am a new recruit to Lia Sophia and have my first 2 parties this weekend, then my next 2 next weekend!! I’m sooooo excited and nervous to. I’ve been working all week on games to play and pieces to talk about. I have a “master” book with pages tabbed.
I have a 9month old and a 9 year old and my last day of work is 15 March!!! I plan on giving this all I have and making my way to the top!
I used to do hair and I still keep in touch with a few owners that I knew. I wanted to set up a vendors show in the spring time. Does anyone have any experience in this? If so, you can e-mail me at snorton78@yahoo.com.
Also, what about sending out letters explaing the hostess program and enclosing a business card and distributing them to random neighborhoods in my area?
Thanks and take care!!
2/15/08 at 8:19 pmI just recently went to my first Lia Sophia show, with a friend, i wasn’t even on the invite list! I loved everything. I had never heard of the company before. My friend decided to book a show and i went to that show as an invited guest. I then booked a show from her. I have not held my show yet but have been going through the catalog and i want everything. So i’m considering trying the business out. is it better to have someone do my show, or just buy a kit and start asap. Is there any kind of deal where you can get your kit cheaper for having a show? Just curious.
4/25/08 at 8:48 pmI’m just wondering why a message that I posted almost 2 weeks ago never made it to the site. I really wanted to hear other people’s feed back.

5/20/08 at 8:18 amIf you are considering the business and you join my team I have a way that you can earn your kit. Go to my website and contact me and I will tell you all about it. I am a Star Unit Manager and have been doing this for a year and a half now, this is the only job I have and make enough money where I don’t have to work out of the home. I love this job!
I think they have some really creative nice looking pieces. The quality is pretty poor though. Every single one of the rings I bought (about 4-5) turns my fingers green after a few hours of wear. I bought them a couple years ago so I could only return them in exchange for merchandise credit and I’m really not interested in replacing them with more of their overpriced, poor quality products. I’m just chalking it all up as a lesson learned. When I pay $40 for a ring, I kind of expect it to be better than that. I can get nice sterling silver stuff that doesn’t react with my skin for much cheaper at JC Penney or someplace. I’d definately be embarrased to sell it given my experiences.
6/12/08 at 1:46 amDeb,
If a person has a natural high acidity level in his/her skin, it is possible for his/her finger to “turn green” from silver or gold jewelry, especially when the weather is hot and humid. Even my platinum wedding set turns my finger green when I`m under alot of stress.
I have been a lia sophia advisor for a year now. I thoroughly checked into every direct sales jewelry company out there before signing on with lia sophia and lia sophia is far superior to any of them.
6/17/08 at 9:22 pmIf you have a platinum wedding band turning your finger green….. maybe your ring came out of the bubble gum machine?
6/18/08 at 5:11 amLia Sophia has beautiful pieces, but the quality is clearly not there and the jewelry is not worth the price tag. I spent about $50 on a ring and it looks like a $10 ring.
Customers can get the jewelry at a fraction of the original price on Ebay.
7/17/08 at 4:56 amI’ve been buying Lia Sophia for 2yrs now but only because a good friend of mine sells it. I now own several pieces, bracelets, earings, necklaces and rings. Every single ring has tarnished and a few pairs of earings. I’ve had to return them several times over the last 2yr and refuse to purchase anymore from this company. When you first get them they look beautiful but after a few weeks of wear, they tarnish so bad they look like you bought them from a cheap jewelry chain in the mall. My friend is always telling me and everyone else that complains about this same issue that it’s because we have a high acidity level. This must be the reply that Lia Sophia has they reps tell everyone to make the customer feel like it “OUR FAULT”. Funny that it’s happened to everyone I know that has purchased rings from Lia Sophia. How do you explaine that? I’ve NEVER had any other good quality rings tarnish on me besides these. If you want a quality REAL 925 sterling silver jewelry than buy them from Silpada or Gemstyle. Gemstyle has good quality jewelry and is very reasonably priced!!!
7/28/08 at 8:01 pmHi,
8/13/08 at 9:37 pmI was really surprised to hear the complaint about returning items. I started out as a customer of lia sophia and I have had nothing but great service with returns etc. Just because one time something happens doesn’t mean it happens all the time. That is a bit of a leap. I work for a major medical company and even with them being fortune 500 they make mistakes. That is the nature of business.
I have returned countless things for myself and for my customers. I loved the quality of lia sophia so much and had such a great experience that I decided to join. I have always been a skeptic of home party stuff but this is the real deal. Women can never have enough jewelry and lia sophia is all about their customers. That is what keeps people coming back over and over again.
This is a great company and I know a lot of people who are making a lot of money with this. Also, I know a lot of people that love the jewelry and have been very impressed with the product and services.
