Hong Kong Fashion Week

This year’s Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring and Summer ‘08 was bigger than any before it. The event ran from July 10 - 13th and hosted exhibitors from 15 countries, along with a compelling New Fashion Collection Award.

iPapier has great captures of the young designers’ catwalk efforts, but my personal favorite would have to be Lo Sing Chin;

Even his loose shifts are flowing and yet, still delicate - a difficult balance in a style that I think so often makes women look massively pregnant. All three pieces give the shoulders and collarbone a simultaneously dainty and graceful look.

Another popular show was from the Malaysian-born Bernard Foong;

These are surprisingly attractive (except for that first dress which looks like a sea foam Lush bath bomb exploded) for designs coming from a man responsible for this. (pssst…Bernard…time to update your website)
