Hong Kong Fashion Week

by Jessica on July 19th, 2007

This year’s Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring and Summer ‘08 was bigger than any before it. The event ran from July 10 – 13th and hosted exhibitors from 15 countries, along with a compelling New Fashion Collection Award.

iPapier has great captures of the young designers’ catwalk efforts, but my personal favorite would have to be Lo Sing Chin;

Even his loose shifts are flowing and yet, still delicate – a difficult balance in a style that I think so often makes women look massively pregnant. All three pieces give the shoulders and collarbone a simultaneously dainty and graceful look.

Another popular show was from the Malaysian-born Bernard Foong;

These are surprisingly attractive (except for that first dress which looks like a sea foam Lush bath bomb exploded) for designs coming from a man responsible for this. (pssst…Bernard…time to update your website)
