Eee PC by Asus: Linux is Fashionable
Posted: 8/28/07
Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a mention of Linux in this month’s American Vogue. Apparently, the next hottest thing in ultra-portable computing is the Eee PC by Asus. Finished in pearl-white, weighing in at just under two-pounds, and designed to be completely shockproof, the Eee is the ultimate for mobility.![]()
The thing is, the Eee uses a Linux operating system, which helps to explain the $299 price tag. Along with Linux, the super-tiny, very-light laptop has all the office and internet functions of a full-sized computer. Of course, with only 512 MB of memory and a standard 8GB flash hard drive, it won’t be replacing your home computer, but it is small enough to fit into your purse.
