Double, Double, Toil and … Bubble?

Bubble dresses. Bubble. Dresses. Sigh. Do I really need to say anything more than that? Probably not, but you know I am going to continue running my mouth anyway, right?

On the one hand, this trend is really cute. On the rack and in theory, these puffy, bubbly dresses are adorable. The tops are elegant, the bottoms are a little funky, a little edgy, so it is all good.

On the body and in practice, though, I think this trend falls short unless you are interested in traipsing around looking like Lady Gaga (which you shouldn’t do, because she will accuse you of copying off of her).

I have seen girls wearing this. Even if you have legs up to your chin, this kind of dress tends to make you look a little stumpy. Plus, in the derriere area, you either look ginormous … or like you are trying to hide the fact that you are hiding some junk in the trunk — and failing miserably.
