Come to the Dark Side

My life is fantastic. Why? Because I just splurged on chocolate. This simple indulgence may be the key to global happiness.

For years, I was a throw-away chocolate girl. I’d buy any supermarket candy with a shiny wrapper. Much like our younger selves who could wear uncomfortable shoes or get away with $5 sunglasses, we could be happy with factory chocolate. But now I’ve seen the light, or rather, the dark. Dark chocolate that is.

After having quality choco goods thrusted on me by some Russian friends, I was hooked and hunting for more. I found this great article from Food & Wine magazine’s Pete Wells where he raves about Italian chocolate brand, Amedei. The man traveled from New York to Italy just to try this chocolate. I had to find some. After a few web searches and a heavy wallet hit (it’s about $12 for a small chocolate bar!), I scored. The order arrived today and I think I’m in heaven. I feel like someone who owns a Ford and just got to test drive a Ferrari. I don’t think I can go back to regular chocolate. Ever.
