I think we mentioned National Underwear Day last year when The Lingerie Post had a huge amount of coverage from the event, and for continuation reasons I wanted to let you all know it’s NUD again tomorrow! :D

All NYC-lingerista’s should head to Manhatten for lingerious reasons!

I won’t be there myself but will surely point you in the direction of event-coverage afterwards. :)

Nanette Lepore, an Ohio fashion talent that followed her fashion-oriented heart to the fashion capitol New York has done an excellent job on this pretty Fall/Winter 08.09 collection, shown in NYC during fashion week a few days ago…

Simple, feminine and chic — the kind of collection from which I could see multiple pieces ending up in my closet, if I had the right budget.

Salon international de la lingerie in Paris

Our good friend Bert from The Lingerie Post (he helps us all the time with our website, and he does a great job at TLP!) visited the Salon international de la lingerie in Paris last weekend, and he and Mandolina will be doing coverage of the event in the next weeks on TLPâ€¦

Designers Against Aids

This is a great collaboration of designers and celebrities in an effort to spread the awareness of HIV and Aids, which currently is affecting many people, young and old, from all over the world. The collection is titled Fashion Against Aids, and will be available in H&M Departments everywhere beginning in February 2008. Many popular and well known designers are involved, as well as celebrities such as Rihanna and Timbaland, among many others. Itâ€™s great to see fashion put to such good use and itâ€™s wonderful for people from all over the world to work together to help make people more aware of the dangers of contracting such a terrible disease.

Get Ready for Prada

In a recent disclosure, Prada announced that it will be going public in 2008! That means that it will be listed on the stock exchange in Milan in the first few months of the new year. If you have ever wanted to really be part of Prada, now is your chance. The Italian based company that owns Prada also owns Miu Miu and Car Shoe, as well as several other brands. This will be a good turn for Prada in terms of revenue, and gives us normal people a chance to really be part of the action.

Kevan Hall Spring/Summer 2008

The theme for Kevan Hallâ€™s collection of Spring designs was a Safari, and he did a beautiful job promoting that theme. The show was designed to motivate and inspire people to support African related charities. Hall is working in collaboration with Jewels & Pinstripes, which is a celebrity gift bag service, to create five luxury gift bags that are worth over $13,000 each to be auctioned off to benefit the African Millennium Foundation. The designs in this collection are absolutely stunning, and do a wonderful job representing the colors of African culture. This is by far one of the most beautiful and inspiring collections that I have seen this season.

Fendi Spring/Summer 2008 at the Great Wall of China

On October 19^th, 2007, Fendi held a wonderful showcase of Karl Lagerfeldâ€™s designs at the Great Wall of China. You have probably already heard about the show, it was phenomenal. The show was a huge success, with 500 guests attending, including Kate Bosworth and Thandie Newton. But, we are here to show you fashion at its greatest, so I brought some pictures for you to see. The designs were all absolutely breathtaking, and I had so much trouble choosing only a few for you to view. The show was actually an expanded version of the Spring collection that Fendi showed in Milan. Take a good look at the split dresses, I love those. The ones with pants or shorts underneath are exquisite. I have seen the look before, and I always think itâ€™s a sexy look, but these designs take it to a whole new level.

Angel Sanchez Spring/Summer 2008

The Angel Sanchez Spring/Summer collection was part of the â€œCatwalk for a Cureâ€ held in Houston, Texas in October. The show was held to benefit the Breast Care Center of Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa. The pieces, although they did not seem to follow a theme as most runway collections do, were all beautiful. I simply love the line of some of the dresses, they are all so beautifully cut and flowing. The colors were all bright and sunny and overall the whole line is simply gorgeous. What better way to benefit breast health than with a beautiful line of clothing?

6267 Spring/Summer 2008 Runway Collection

In Milan, Roberto Rimondi and Tommaso Aquilano, aka 6267, had quite a time showing off their designs. The 6267 line was a huge success, and the two pulled off a coo, when they received more sustained applause for their designs, individually and collectively, than any other designer has this season. Itâ€™s not surprising with their silks, and raffia-embroidered pieces. The colors, the cuts, everything about the designs overall was beautiful. Although the pieces seemed to capture the essence of time honored designs, Rimondi and Aquilano have definitely put their own spin on them. Beautiful collection – Excellent Designers.
