Still looking for summer dresses. Still discovering great ones! Today — at barneys.com — an extraordinary powder dress (cotton, though) by Martin Grant.

This one is probably not going to be my favorite — but I like the general idea. +$1500. Not my budget range for a little summer dress. :)

This collection is beautiful. I love the colors, they are bold and the coral just really stands out. I really liked the leather blazer, and the leather skirt. Including the belts, there was actually alot of leather in thisÂ collection.Â I actually couldnâ€™t find anything that I didnâ€™t like with this line. Now granted, some of the pieces looked like they were 60â€™s reborn, but thatâ€™s ok with me. I loved the styles from the 60â€™s. Anyway, here are the pictures, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Martin Grant’s spring 2007 collection

Last week Martin Grant showed his spring 2007 collection in Paris. The Australian-born designer is known for his almost sculptural silhouettes and combination of French charm and ellegance. His feminine and functional clothes comes in neutral colors and are always of high quality.

His new collection is injected with a sportif element. This was translated into tennis dresses, sporty silhouettes and materials and lovely details. This sleeveless tennis dress is a great exemple of Martin Grant’s vision for the spring of 2007: sexy, sporty women dressed in French chic. This collection containes timeless pieces every women should have in her closet: trenches, little black dresses, jumpsuits, …

I like Martin Grant’s collections. He started off designing for a rather small, select audience, but now you can find his collection in all big cities all over the world. I bought a beatiful cashemire coat last year and I must say it was one of my best purchases I made that year.
